Battlefield 6 Developers Outline Open Beta Feedback, Changes, and Fun Beta Stats

Following the conclusion of two prosperous open beta phases for Battlefield 6, the creators of the game have disclosed insights into the feedback received from players and the anticipated modifications to the upcoming shooter prior to its scheduled launch on October 10. In an extensive article titled “Open Beta Recap”, the developers discussed adjustments to game balance, including mechanical and overarching design aspects.

In the full version of Battlefield 6, compared to its open beta, you can expect significant modifications mainly in weapon handling and movement. For instance, the recoil patterns and tap-fire mechanics will be revised across all weapons. Moreover, specific weapons like the M87A1 shotgun will demand more pellets to achieve a kill, which means securing a victory might require a bit more precision.

The dynamics of movement are being revised; speed in a horizontal direction, say from a slide to a jump, will not transfer as smoothly. Additionally, jumping multiple times consecutively will result in a more severe speed reduction, and the heights at which players can jump have been modified to prevent them from reaching unexpected locations with ease, compared to the open beta. Furthermore, the mechanics of the parachute are undergoing fine-tuning, offering players more control over their descent by reducing the initial acceleration upon opening the parachute.

In terms of game modes, EA has announced plans to maintain Rush mode at lower player numbers to ensure balance and align with their desired approach for the mode. For those seeking a comparable mode with increased player count, the studio is focusing on developing Breakthrough, which can accommodate up to 64 players depending on the map. Notably, EA has mentioned that players desiring to experience Rush with larger numbers can do so via Portal. Smaller-scale modes such as King of the Hill, Team Deathmatch, and Squad Deathmatch will continue to host matches with 16 players each.

In addition to unveiling various aspects of the game, the creators of Battlefield 6 have shared some intriguing statistics from the open betas. These stats range from the number of enemies vanquished (approximately 5 billion), player-initiated friendly revivals (nearly 31 million), and the astonishing financial damage inflicted during player-led wars ($196 trillion). Furthermore, an infographic offers a detailed look at how many players chose each character class.

In the trials for Battlefield 6, it appeared that Assault was the preferred choice among players, accounting for 32% of all participants. The second most chosen class was Support, selected by 26%, followed closely by Engineer at 23%. The Recon class came in last with 19%. Some intriguing figures include over 337 million kills using shotguns, 7.4 million kills from defibrillators, 5.3 million kills simply by running over an enemy with a vehicle, and 3.4 million destroyed jets.

The highly anticipated game, Battlefield 6, is being developed for personal computers (PC), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. The open beta trials for
