As the launch of Battlefield 6‘s first season on October 28th approaches, Battlefield Studios has shared an update on the game’s improvements and what players can anticipate for the season. They’ve also announced that Battlefield Labs will temporarily pause while the team focuses on finishing Season 1 for Battlefield 6.
We’ve already made several changes to Battlefield 6, including improvements to how you find games and how matchmaking works, ensuring you get the maps and modes you prefer. We’ve also fixed a bug that sometimes prevented vehicles from appearing, and adjusted XP rewards for experiences created in Portal.
The developers recently shared that they’re currently prioritizing how the game plays and feels in combat. They’re looking into improvements in several areas, including weapon accuracy, game balance, how easily you can see things, aim assistance, and how players progress. They’ve already released some updates and plan to continue rolling out more throughout Season 1.
The next update for Battlefield 6 will include a wide range of improvements. These changes cover how players move, how they progress in the game, and even what they can see under different circumstances. The developers are focusing heavily on making movement feel more consistent by refining animations and adjusting how the aiming reticle behaves during those animations.
The team is continuing to monitor the game after last week’s updates. Currently, players may not be earning the correct amount of XP in Escalation and King of the Hill modes. To address this, Battlefield Studios will increase XP rewards for these modes to match other game types. Additionally, the Season 1 Update 1 releasing on October 28th will refine weapon accuracy, ensuring each weapon feels distinct and performs as expected.
This update will improve weapon accuracy in several ways. We’re making weapons more consistently accurate overall, but still keeping the benefit of burst-firing – it will remain a useful technique for controlling your shots and hitting your targets.
Although the Battlefield Labs testing program is currently paused, the team shared what they’ve learned from experimenting with a battle royale mode for Battlefield 6. Based on that testing, they’ve made several improvements, including increasing starting armor, tweaking how quickly weapons eliminate enemies at close range, and rebalancing the map and vehicles.
