Although some details have leaked out prior to the official announcement, fans can already wishlist the game on consoles. Interestingly, Battlefield 6 does not appear on the list for Xbox One or PS4. Instead, it’s slated for release on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. This change is a positive development, as it means that the game won’t be hampered by hardware that’s 12 years old.

In five years from now, it’s predicted that Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will come out for PS4 and Xbox One, much like other popular franchises such as NBA 2K. Some franchises are moving away from older consoles, but there was some worry that Battlefield might stay with last-gen due to its larger player base.
