EA and Battlefield Studios are launching a free trial of Battlefield 6 alongside a big update to the game. From November 25th to December 2nd, players can try out a limited version of the multiplayer shooter, which will include access to 5 game modes and 3 maps. This isn’t a full game trial – it only features a selection of the available content.
Starting later this month, players will get a free chance to play Battlefield 6. From November 25th to December 2nd, a free trial will be available, letting you experience five different game modes on three select maps. This is a full week to try out the fast-paced multiplayer action of Battlefield 6 without paying!
The latest update, called California Resistance, brings Battlefield 6 to version 1.1.2.0. It includes new content like the Eastwood map, set in Southern California and playable in all game modes, and a temporary game mode called Sabotage, along with various improvements and bug fixes.
The latest update to Battlefield 6 brings a significant change: the game’s aim assist is now working the same way it did during the open beta and Battlefield Labs testing phases. The developers explained that this new aim assist system will be the standard, but players will still be able to adjust it to fit their preferences using the game’s settings.
When the game first came out, we tried making aiming feel slower when you zoomed in really far. But after watching how people were actually playing, we realized it made aiming feel jerky and tough to manage, especially at high zoom levels. So we’re tweaking that now!
Based on what players told us and how the game was played, we’re changing aim assist to match what many of you experienced in the Open Beta and Battlefield Labs. This will be the standard setting, but you’ll still be able to customize it to fit how you like to play.
Battlefield Studios is updating more than just the core gameplay. They recently announced changes to in-game Challenges and Assignments, focusing on rewarding players for skill and consistent effort instead of simply how long they play. These challenges have been reworked with new requirements to better reflect and reward skillful gameplay and meaningful progress.
Battlefield Studios announced they’ve simplified challenges, reducing the time needed to complete them. They’ve focused on rewarding players who consistently play the game and made sure the challenges fit within typical play sessions. The changes align challenge requirements with realistic playtime goals, making them more attainable.
The development team is also addressing other problems, such as the issue where the ground seems to bounce, problems with character abilities not activating as expected, and a limit on frames per second caused by Nvidia Reflex.
