Battlefield 6 Isn’t Releasing at Midnight (Here’s When You Can Play It)

The release of *Battlefield 6* is delayed slightly. One benefit of buying games digitally is instant access, often even before they’re available in stores. For example, Xbox players in the US can sometimes start playing a day early thanks to the time difference with New Zealand. Even without that, many games launch at midnight Eastern Time (9 PM Pacific), which is fantastic for eager players!

Despite the possibilities with modern game releases, *Battlefield 6* won’t be available to play right at midnight. While physical copies might be available in some stores that stay open late or host midnight releases, digital downloads won’t be ready until later. So, if you were hoping to jump in as soon as it launched, you’ll have to wait – it won’t be released until after you’ve had a chance to sleep.

What Time Does Battlefield 6 Release?

Battlefield 6 will be available to play in the US starting at 8 AM Pacific Time / 11 AM Eastern Time on Friday, October 10th. The good news is you can download the game beforehand, so you’ll be ready to play as soon as it launches. EA hasn’t explained why they chose a mid-day release, but it might be to help manage the game servers.

Earlier this year, Christian Buhl, the technical director for the game, told ComicBook that the team was focused on a seamless launch. They don’t expect to need server queues for more than just the first few minutes after release. They’ve planned for the number of pre-orders, but also made sure they have enough server capacity to handle a large number of players buying the game at launch without pre-ordering.

If you get a physical copy of *Battlefield 6* early, you might be able to play, but keep in mind the servers were brought online for reviewers like myself starting Monday. While it might be playable, there could be maintenance or you might encounter bot-filled servers. However, the single-player campaign isn’t available yet and won’t appear in the menu until the official launch. So, you won’t be able to play the campaign before everyone else.

So, Battlefield 6 is getting a big update tomorrow, right on launch day! It’s basically fixing stuff we all talked about during the beta and ironing out other bugs they found. Honestly, if you want the smoothest, best experience, you *definitely* want to download this patch as soon as it’s available. It’ll make a huge difference, trust me.
