Even if the season two cinematic for Battlefield 6 didn’t get you excited, the new gameplay trailer should! It reveals the upcoming map, Contaminated, which will be available on February 17th, and features the explosive action you’d expect. As the name suggests, a gas mask will be essential when playing on this map.
Occasionally, strange smoke from Fort Lyndon causes soldiers to hallucinate, making them vulnerable. Wearing a gas mask will protect you, but it will narrow your vision, so be extra cautious. With the launch of Extreme Measures, the first part of Season 2, we’re also introducing two new light helicopters – the AH-6 Little Bird and MH-350 – that can easily navigate tunnels.
Players can now access three new weapons: the GRT-CPS DMR, VCR-2 Assault Rifle, and M121 A2 Machine Gun. They’ll also find two new gadgets: the HTI-MK2 and 9K38 IGLA. On March 17th, a new map called Hagental Base will be released, along with a special event called Nightfall, which seems to take inspiration from the Splinter Cell series. The update also includes the M1030-1 dirt bike and the CZ3A1 submachine gun.
The season ends on April 14th with the ‘Hunter/Prey’ update, bringing changes to Portal, the Live Tactical View, and a special, temporary event called Operation Augur. It’s a bit surprising that the popular Golmud Railway map from Battlefield 4 isn’t included, but we might hear more about it later.
