Recently, we’ve been deluged with a flood of information and gameplay clips regarding Battlefield 6, and more details are trickling in daily — such as how the first-person shooter will function on gaming consoles.
During a chat with YouTube’s Tech & Co, the primary game designer at DICE, Florian Le Bihan, assures players that when using Performance mode on PS5, they can expect a consistent 60 frames per second gameplay.
Here’s his full quote regarding performance (auto translated on YouTube):
In our perspective, optimization has been crucial for Battlefield. Our goal isn’t just to create a visually stunning game, but also one that performs well across various system configurations. We invest significant resources in optimizing the game to ensure smooth performance. On consoles, we promise a consistent 60 frames per second (fps) experience.
According to Le Bihan, while he didn’t explicitly state this, it seems that the Performance mode on the PS5 Pro may potentially deliver an even faster frame rate, given the appropriate setup configuration.
It’s fantastic news! Games like Battlefield 6 significantly improve with seamless performance due to their quick-moving nature and need for instantaneous decisions. Maintaining a consistent 60 frames per second while still looking visually appealing is quite remarkable as well.
We’ve just finished playing the game, and we were quite impressed by it. It appears to be a genuine comeback for the series.
