Battlefield 6 has quickly become a massive hit on Steam, reaching the top of the charts within a single day of its release. It’s currently the second most popular game on the platform, with over 747,440 players online at its peak shortly after launch!
Needless to say, Battlefield 6 is EA’s most successful shooter ever.
The game isn’t perfect, and many players are currently experiencing a number of problems.
Initially, a problem with the EA app on PCs prevented many players from starting the game. Surprisingly, even a leader at Battlefield, Vince Zampella, advised those affected to get a refund and purchase the game on Steam instead.
Then there’s the missing content bug which prevented some players to play the multiplayer mode.
Recently, a new problem emerged that stopped some players from experiencing the game’s single-player mode. These players were unexpectedly disconnected from the campaign because of Battlefield 6’s constant need for an internet connection.
Why Users are Disconnected from the Singleplayer Campaign
A Reddit user named u/WintorOperator shared a concern on the r/pccmasterrace subreddit.
A Reddit user, u/WintorOperator, reports that the game’s constant internet connection requirement makes it nearly impossible to enjoy the single-player story mode because of frequent disconnections. This problem appears to primarily impact players with unstable or slow internet connections.

If your internet connection is unstable, the game will likely pause and display a “Connection Lost” message. You can then try reconnecting, contact EA support for help, or simply quit playing.
If you rejoin the game, you’ll likely see the same error again if your internet connection isn’t stable.
Many players expressed their frustration online, with one saying they were eager to start the single-player campaign but faced a long wait – they were 450,000th in line just to connect and play it.
It’s unfortunately becoming common for games to require a constant internet connection. While it’s frustrating, single-player games shouldn’t *need* to be online, and this trend really needs to change.
However, a few players felt the story in the campaign wasn’t particularly strong. But honestly, most of us probably play the game for its exciting action and overall gameplay experience.
