Update [Tue 28th Oct 2025, 3:15pm]:
As was teased yesterday, Battlefield REDSEC is available now. Here’s the official launch trailer:
REDSEC (short for redacted sector) is a free-to-play battle royale game where 48 players compete. While it’s included for owners of Battlefield 6, REDSEC is also available as a separate download on the PlayStation Store.
If you want to download it separately, it’s a large file – almost 71 GB – so be sure you have enough storage space.

Electronic Arts (EA) has revealed Battlefield REDSEC, a new free-to-play battle royale game. You can start playing tomorrow, October 28th, 2025.
Fans can look forward to the full reveal, also tomorrow, when the gameplay launch trailer arrives:
We’ve heard bits and pieces about REDSEC before, so it’s helpful to finally have official confirmation.
It will be included with Battlefield 6, but also released separately as a free, standalone experience, so you don’t need to own Battlefield 6 to play it.
We’ll be sure to update this story once the trailer goes live and the game is available.
