A new Panorama investigation focusing on allegations against David Sullivan will be broadcast on BBC tonight.
David Sullivan resigned from his role as West Ham’s joint chair and director this weekend. The club stated his departure comes before the release of serious, past allegations.
Mr. Sullivan, through his lawyers, strongly denies any wrongdoing. He has chosen to resign to prevent any issues for the Club while he handles this privately, according to the statement.
“It is understood none of the allegations relate to West Ham United or any of its operations.”
Tonight’s 30-minute documentary, Predator: The Billionaire Football Boss, investigates the conduct of David Sullivan, who recently announced his resignation as co-chair and director of West Ham United. The program is the result of a joint effort between Panorama and The Times newspaper.
“Over decades, he’s made millions from pornography, newspapers and football.”

West Ham executive Sullivan announced his resignation on Saturday, June 6th, and revealed that false, decades-old allegations about his personal life were about to be made public.
The media has exaggerated false accusations made against me. Having worked in the adult entertainment industry for many years and interacted with countless women, it’s unfortunately not surprising that some inappropriate behavior has been alleged. I strongly deny these allegations.
I value my privacy, and people who know me well – both personally and professionally – understand my true character and values. The media has created a false image of me, and I want to be clear that I am not the person they portray.
I haven’t received a satisfactory explanation of how the BBC checked the facts or determined the trustworthiness of these individuals and their statements before publishing them. I feel the entire process was deeply unfair and lacked proper objectivity. I intend to sue the BBC for libel, and I will also pursue legal action against any other news organization that repeats these false claims.
These claims don’t involve my long career in football, which spans over 30 years. West Ham United is incredibly important to me – it’s been a true honor and passion. I’m deeply committed to the club, its fans, players, and everyone who works here, and I want to ensure a strong future. Given the challenges the club is currently facing, I won’t let these personal issues create any unnecessary problems or disruption.

After a lot of careful thought, and with great sadness, I’ve decided to step down from my roles as joint-chair and director of West Ham United FC, effective immediately. This was a very difficult decision, but I’m making it because I care deeply about the club and its fans, and believe they deserve to be fully united and focused on the future.
I’m resigning to focus entirely on defending myself against these untrue claims. My lawyers are now involved, and we’re preparing to take legal action against anyone who has made false accusations against me. I intend to fully clear my name, both in court and in public.
He stated he won’t be speaking publicly about this matter right now, but he maintains his right to take legal action against anyone who makes false or damaging claims against him.
As a huge fan of investigative documentaries, I’m really looking forward to Predator: The Billionaire Football Boss, which is coming to BBC One and iPlayer on Monday, June 8th at 8pm. It sounds like a must-watch!
