Becca Tilley Proposes to Hayley Kiyoko 5 Months After First Engagement

Becca Tilley and HayleyKiyoko have begun their rosy next chapter together.

The couple is engaged for the second time! The former contestant on The Bachelor proposed to the singer-songwriter in Kyoto, Japan.

“To forever & everywhere with you,” Becca wrote on Instagram Dec. 12. “(She said yes!)”

In a garden bursting with autumn colors, he knelt and proposed to Hayley with a princess-cut diamond ring.

I was so thrilled to hear Becca proposed! It’s amazing because it’s only been five months since Hayley proposed to her during their summer trip to Mallorca. I remember Hayley sharing the news on Instagram back in July – she posted the sweetest message about her ‘dream girl’ saying yes to spending forever together. It’s just so lovely to see them both so happy!

Hayley, age 34, posted photos from their celebration on a Spanish island, including a detailed look at her engagement ring. Becca, 37, excitedly shared at the time that saying ‘yes’ was the easiest decision she’d ever made.

This special moment has been a long time coming—seven years, actually. Interestingly, when Hayley and Becca first met at Hayley’s album release party in 2018, Becca wasn’t even interested in dating. She had previously competed for the affection of Chris Soules and Ben Higgins on The Bachelor.

She remembered wearing a shirt that jokingly said ‘no time for romance,’ and shared the story in an Instagram post from April 2024, marking their sixth anniversary. Apparently, Hayley didn’t pay any attention to it.

Even though Becca was hesitant at first, she and the singer of “Girls Like Girls” quickly fell in love after they met.

She went on to say that it’s amazing how easily someone you’ve never met can suddenly become incredibly important to you.

For four years, they kept their relationship private. They finally confirmed they were together in the music video for Hayley’s song “Girls Like Girls,” which was themed around the show The Bachelorette.

It took Becca a while to feel comfortable coming out as queer and sharing her relationship publicly, particularly given her experience with reality TV.

In a May 2024 podcast interview on Made It Out, she shared that Hayley and she often talked about the balance between sharing and keeping things private. Hayley had told her, ‘I’m really proud of who I am, and I’ve worked hard to get here. I don’t want to feel like I have to hide again.’

Becca explained, “I don’t want you to feel bad, but it’s really tough being in the public eye, especially since I came from The Bachelor. It’s hard to balance having a platform with everything that comes with it, and I hope you can understand that.”

But the hard launch was worth the wait.

In a 2022 interview with TopMob News, Becca shared, “I’m amazed by all the support and love we’ve received – I never expected it!”
