Actress Bella Ramsey from The Last of Us series responded to the negative feedback about Season 2 that was posted online. Although it kept its Certified Fresh score, some disgruntled internet users criticized Joel’s violent death and Ellie’s bond with Dina, resulting in a Popcornmeter rating of 31%. This is noticeably lower than the Tomatometer rating of 91% that the season earned.
What was Bella Ramsey’s message for The Last of Us Season 2 haters?
In a recent conversation on The Awardist podcast, Ramsey openly acknowledged that they don’t often delve into the negative comments about Season 2 that fans have expressed online. Instead, they suggested that those who disagree with the creative team’s alterations to the original story should consider playing the game themselves if they wish to share their views more constructively.
Ramsey prefers to avoid it as much as possible when being truthful,” he mentioned. “However, if you find it intolerable, feel free to skip it. The game is available for replay. On the other hand, if you’d like to watch it, I hope you find enjoyment in it.
In the upcoming third part of The Last of Us, the narrative will transition to a new central character, with Kaitlyn Dever’s compelling and contentious character, Abby Anderson, taking center stage. After her debut as the primary antagonist in Season 2, she is now set to be the protagonist in Season 3. Notably, her outstanding acting has earned her a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series at the upcoming Emmy Awards.
Moreover, there’s going to be a shift within the creative team, with Neil Druckmann, co-creator, and Halley Gross, producer and writer, leaving the show to focus on future ventures at Naughty Dog. Craig Mazin, creator of Chernobyl, will continue as the only showrunner for Season 3.
