Bella Thorne Shares Update on Mark Emms’ Wedding After Engagement

Bella Thorne isn’t saying “Action!” to wedding planning just yet.

Two years after getting engaged to Mark Emms, the former Shake It Up star said they’ll start planning their wedding as soon as they have more free time from work.

Bella recently told TopMob News’ Erin Lim Rhodes at The Hollywood Reporter’s Women in Entertainment Gala that her new movie, which she wrote and directed, feels like a personal project. She explained that after finishing the film – including editing and promotion – she plans to work on Spring Breakers.

The 28-year-old actress explained she’s been concentrating on finishing her movie, Color Your Hurt, and the next Spring Breakers film. She said, “Once those are completed, we’ll be able to focus and do the project properly.”

Bella isn’t planning a wedding anytime soon, but she showed her love for the producer by proposing to him in August. He had proposed to her a year before that.

She told TopMob that they’d been through both wonderful and challenging times together. She described making art as incredibly difficult, and right before filming, she felt a strong desire to reciprocate the love he’d shown her when he proposed, wanting to create a balanced exchange. She recalled him being deeply moved, calling the moment genuinely sweet and touching.

The actress from Blended, who broke off her engagement with Benjamin Mascolo in 2022, is happy she and he had taken things as far as they did.

She was surprised by how flattered people seem to be when it happens, often reacting as if they’ve been specially selected. It’s a mutual thing, she explained – they’re chosen, and they choose back. It goes both ways.

I’ve been following Bella and Mark’s relationship for a while now, and it’s clear how deeply they feel for each other! It wasn’t just Bella making grand gestures, though. Back in October, Mark actually put on a whole art show about their love! It was amazing – there were photos of them holding hands, and you could even see Bella’s incredible nails in some of them. It was a really sweet and public display of affection.

I was absolutely blown away last October when Mark surprised me with a whole exhibition dedicated to us! Seriously, it was the sweetest, most touching way to show his love. I’m not ashamed to admit I cried – a lot – going through it all. It was such an incredible and loving gesture.
