Belly and Jeremiah’s Shocking Proposal Shakes Up The Summer I Turned Pretty!

At last, the eagerly anticipated final season of The Summer I Turned Pretty has premiered on Amazon Prime Video, and as always, there’s much to discuss. Ranging from Taylor and Steven’s tumultuous relationship to an accident involving a car after an intense argument between Belly’s brother and her best friend.

however, their romantic progression overshadowed everything else following a significant incident towards the end of episode 2.

At the start of the third series, the couple were delightfully content, except for Belly grappling with the decision to leave for studies in Paris, and Jeremiah struggling because he couldn’t graduate due to not meeting the necessary criteria.

However, they seemed unshakeable – that was until Belly found out that he had been intimate with another woman on two separate occasions during spring break, causing their relationship to collapse.

Jeremiah assumed their relationship had ended after an intense disagreement prior to his journey, whereas she felt they were just temporarily apart, similar to Ross and Rachel’s “break” – a revelation he prepared to disclose upon his return.

But the moment ended up passing and said scandal was subsequently swept under the rug.

The situation took an unexpected turn when Belly secretly heard the girl they were dating discussing her meeting with Jeremiah at a sorority gathering. This conversation left Belly heartbroken and led them to call off their relationship.

However, their brief separation passed quickly. Guided by Taylor’s sage advice about reassessing her emotions towards Steven post-accident, Belly opted to pardon Jeremiah and welcome him back into her life.

And that wasn’t the only development…

Following his vow not to breach her confidence once more, Jeremiah humbly inquired if Belly would consent to become his wife – and with no second thoughts, she enthusiastically agreed.

Yet, even as the pair revels in their happiness, setting plans for their shared future, it’s not all celebratory for some others.

“I’m sorry, what?” says Laurel in the trailer after her daughter delivers the big news.

“You two aren’t ready for a commitment like this. You’re talking about a lifetime.”

Later on, Jeremiah counters by declaring his unwavering devotion to Belly for eternity, yet Laurel remains skeptical and doesn’t accept it as genuine.

She counters, firmly standing her ground, and I can understand why. They’re still quite young, with plenty of life left to live, and moreover, they’ve recently reignited their connection, which doesn’t exactly instill a sense of assurance.

And then, there’s Conrad.

Although Belly’s affection for Jeremiah is indisputable, it’s clear that her sentiments towards his brother persist as well. Intriguingly, at the conclusion of the preview, she’s depicted strolling along an aisle adorned in a pristine white wedding gown.

But who will she choose to marry?

At the threshold of becoming an adult, Belly stands at a significant juncture, needing to choose between her brothers who holds her affection. (synopsis)
