Fans in the UK can now stream ‘Moonlighting,’ the popular 1980s show that made Bruce Willis a star, for the very first time.
As a huge fan, I’m thrilled to share that all five seasons – all 67 episodes! – are now streaming on STV Player, and totally free! It’s a great way to binge-watch or revisit this amazing show.
This innovative series, often considered one of the first to successfully blend drama and comedy on television, ran from 1985 to 1989.
The show was a critical success, earning six Emmy Awards – including one for Bruce Willis as the best lead actor in a drama series in 1987 – and three Golden Globe Awards. Cybill Shepherd won two Golden Globes for her performance as the best actress in a television series, specifically in the musical or comedy category.
Bruce Willis plays detective David Addison, and alongside him is Cybill Shepherd as Maddie Hayes. Maddie was a successful fashion model who lost her fortune and unexpectedly found herself owning a detective agency, the Blue Moon Detective Agency, in Los Angeles. There, she and David work together to solve unusual and interesting cases.

Alongside Willis and Shepherd, the likes of Allyce Beasley and Curtis Armstrong also star.
Richard Williams, managing director of audience (video & technology) at STV, announced they’re excited to bring this beloved show to viewers on STV Player. He described the series as ideal for a relaxing binge-watch, highlighting its strong writing, the captivating connection between the main actors, and a touch of Hollywood glamour.
As a total fan of revisiting classic shows, I’m really excited to see *Moonlighting* join STV Player! It’s great company alongside other nostalgic favorites like *Brookside* and *Byker Grove*. Honestly, with the nights getting colder, it feels like the perfect time to cozy up and re-watch this ’80s gem this autumn. I’m hoping lots of viewers will enjoy it as much as I do!
