Two popular shows, the historical drama The Durrells and the crime series Whitechapel, are being removed from Netflix UK this month.
Okay, so this is a bit of a bummer for fans. Two shows that have been reliably available on the streaming service for ages are about to disappear. Apparently, the agreements they had to keep those shows on the platform have run out, and won’t be renewed. It’s a common thing with streaming, sadly – content comes and goes as licenses expire.
The TV series The Durrells is available on Netflix now, with seasons one through three added on February 7th, 2024, and season four arriving on February 14th. However, it will be removed from the platform on February 13th, 2026.
All four seasons of the show Whitechapel arrived on Netflix on February 28th, 2024, but will be taken off the service on February 26th.
The Durrells, first shown on ITV1, tells the story of the real Durrell family, a British family who moved to the Greek island of Corfu just before World War II.

The show stars the likes of Keeley Hawes (Bodyguard) and Josh O’Connor (Challengers).
Whitechapel, originally shown on ITV1, is a police drama where detectives investigate gruesome murders that are similar to crimes from the past. The show features actors Rupert Penry-Jones, Phil Davis, and Steve Pemberton.
Although both shows could be removed from Netflix this month, viewers still have other places to watch them.
You can currently watch The Durrells on Disney+. Since it was added in June 2024, it’s likely to remain available for a while.
Meanwhile, all four seasons of Whitechapel are available to stream on Channel 4.
