This year has seen several manga series on Shonen Jump come to an end, but the sudden announcement of Blooming Love’s finale surprised many readers. Shonen Jump+, a popular digital platform from Shueisha, publishes globally successful manga like Dandadan, Spy x Family, and Kaiju No. 8. Because ‘shonen’ manga is so popular worldwide, competition is fierce, and Shonen Jump+ consistently features promising new series. While action-packed battle manga is common, the platform also offers a variety of other genres, including romance, which often draws in readers, especially when the manga is readily available online.
I’m a huge fan of Daichi Kawada’s Blooming Love, and like many others, I was totally surprised when the manga ended! It didn’t become a massive global phenomenon, but it has a really dedicated fanbase. The series concluded on December 2nd, 2025, and the final volume, Volume 7, is coming out soon! I saw the cover shared by @MangaMoguraRE – they’re always on top of things with anime and manga news. Volume 7 will be released in Japan on January 5th, 2026. Sadly, none of the volumes have been released in English yet, and we don’t know if or when they will be. But good news – you can read all the chapters right now on the Manga Plus app!
Blooming Love Is One of The Most Wholesome Romance Manga on Shonen Jump+

The story centers around Shintaro Ibuki, a high school student stuck making school supplies simply because he’s in the art club. While working on a project, he notices a girl intensely watching him. Surprisingly, she offers help, noticing he’s new to the tools. She skillfully demonstrates the correct way to use them and quickly finishes his work, leaving him amazed and speechless.
While she’s a talented craftsperson, Shintaro is skilled in art. He admires her crafting ability, but he’s puzzled by her reluctance to show him her sketchbook. Despite their different strengths, they enjoy collaborating on projects, helping each other overcome their individual challenges.
As the two characters spend more time together, a sweet romance naturally develops. The final volume showcases the couple as they say goodbye to fans. While the manga, which concluded in 2023 with Chapter 58, felt a bit rushed to some readers, the story ultimately offers a happy ending. Despite the slightly anticlimactic finish, the manga’s strong foundation and excellent development make it a worthwhile read.
