Beloved Star Wars Legends Character Could Become Canon Soon

As per a recent update from a trusted source, there are rumors that Disney could potentially integrate an iconic character from the Star Wars Legends series into their primary storyline.

What Star Wars Legends character could become canon?

As a passionate cinephile, I’m thrilled to share some exciting news that has me buzzing! According to reputable source Daniel Richtman (known as DanielRPK online), Lucasfilm is considering bringing back the beloved character Mara Jade Skywalker. This iconic figure from Star Wars’ Legends continuity holds a special place in many fans’ hearts, and we’ve been eagerly waiting for her to make an appearance in the main Star Wars canon for quite some time now.

At the moment, it’s uncertain how Lucasfilm might incorporate Mara Jade into the broader storyline. Given the numerous Star Wars productions underway, there’s a chance that one of these projects may feature her and other characters from the expanded universe.

In 1991, Mara Jade Skywalker made her debut in the novel “Heir to the Empire,” penned by author Timothy Zahn, which kickstarted what’s now famously known as the “Thrawn trilogy.” Mara Jade is not only the spouse of Luke Skywalker but also the mother of Ben Skywalker. She has graced various Star Wars platforms over the years, including books, video games, and other media.

It’s true that whether or not Star Wars Legends stories fit into the main storyline of Star Wars is a matter of debate. Originally, George Lucas firmly believed that the tales from what was then called the Expanded Universe were separate from his vision for Star Wars. Following Disney’s purchase of Lucasfilm in 2012, many novels and comics previously classified as part of the Expanded Universe were re-categorized as Star Wars Legends, and were officially declared non-canon in 2014.
