The title “Berserk” has been rightfully bestowed upon it as one of the darkest anime series numerous times. Created by Kentaro Miura, this legendary series subjects its main character, Guts the Black Swordsman, to countless trials as he battles demonic forces and seeks revenge against his ex-ally Griffith. Despite the extensive line of merchandise for the anime over the years, Prime 1 Studio is introducing a unique figure of Guts that sets itself apart from previous representations. Even clad in the Berserker armor, this character can appear endearing depending on the visual style chosen.
For individuals unfamiliar with the Berserker armor, this suit has been instrumental in providing Guts, the Black Swordsman, with the edge he requires in combating the God Hand and their Apostles. Though it does not render him invulnerable, since he can still perish during combat, it significantly amplifies his power and agility. Despite causing injuries such as broken bones or damaged internal organs, the armor keeps Guts standing but carries the risk of overwhelming his mind with rage and a craving for blood. First appearing in the 2016 anime adaptation, there are several battles involving the Berserker armor that have yet to be depicted on screen.
Guts is a “Cutie”
1Studio Primarily unveiled a sneak peek at the adorable Cutie1 figure depicting Guts’ Berserker Armor (Phase 0) from the popular series, Berserk. The first time Guts donned his Berserker Armor, this was the phase he initially wore. Due to the anime hero’s internal struggles, the armor underwent a transformation, becoming much more fearsome, mirroring the ominous form of the dark canine that dwelled within Guts’ subconscious. Although Guts may not possess the might of the Godhand members, his Berserker Armor makes him appear equally menacing as Void and his companions do.
Berserk’s Next Chapter
In just a few days, we’ll be diving back into the world of Berserk with chapter 380! Young Animal will be publishing it on February 28th. Given the events that unfolded in the most recent installment of the Eastern Exile Arc, who knows what unexpected twists and turns await us in the next one? The Black Swordsman and his companions have found themselves in the land of Kushan, where chaos reigns as the empire seems to be in disarray.
Observing closely, it seems Guts, once a resilient warrior, has been grappling with deep emotional turmoil since Casca’s abduction. The rise in Griffith’s power only adds to his troubles. Should he regain his fighting prowess, our protagonist will be confronted not just by demons, but also one of the Godhand’s formidable members.
