This month, “Berserk” delivered a powerful blow to manga enthusiasts not only with one chapter release but double the fun. However, these two episodes didn’t bring much positive news for the series’ gloomy protagonist as Guts encounters a fresh hurdle from his potential allies. Due to the Kushan Empire recognizing the mark on his neck, the Black Swordsman was expelled from the Eastern nation at an inopportune moment. The release of chapter 382 in Japan signals a significant shift for the character, written by Kouji Mori and animated by Studio Gaga, as it propels Guts onto a new course, with the hero grappling with internal strife rather than confronting Apostles head-on.
Heed this notice: If you haven’t read Berserk’s Chapter 362 yet, beware as we’re about to delve into spoiler territory. Contrary to expectations, instead of executing or banishing Guts from the empire, its wise leaders have chosen a different course for our protagonist. The Black Swordsman, accompanied by his current group, encounters a “Stupa,” essentially a tomb. Within this enclosure, Guts will either conquer his emotional turmoil or succumb to it and meet his end.

Where Does Guts Go From Here?
Interestingly enough, despite the unfortunate demise of Kentaro Miura, the creator of Berserk, Guts hasn’t slashed a single demon yet under the new creative team. Instead, ever since Casca was kidnapped by Griffith, the Black Swordsman has been grappling with his internal strife, seemingly unable to accept his current sense of vulnerability. As for what trials await Guts in this enigmatic new setting, fans are already brainstorming possibilities about how the story will unfold.
For a prolonged period, numerous Berserk enthusiasts have pointed out the striking resemblances between Guts’ journey and the enigmatic past of the Skull Knight. Besides their armors showing many similarities, it appears that these two warriors are both treading on a cursed path. If Guts manages to regain his senses within the temple, it will be intriguing to observe if he can match Skull Knight in terms of physical prowess.
It seems that the anticipated Chapter 383 of Berserk hasn’t been scheduled for release along with the latest chapter. Given past patterns, it wouldn’t be unexpected if we have to wait several months for the next issue to appear, given that two chapters came out in a single month. As for an anime adaptation of this dark series, it remains conspicuously absent from our screens. However, there are still plenty of chapters left in the manga that haven’t been animated yet. Here’s hoping Guts returns swiftly to both the manga and potential anime adaptations.
