Best films released in the UK this month: November 2025

As 2025 nears its end, we can expect plenty of significant releases, especially in November, which looks to be a very busy month for new products and content.

The month kicks off with a new installment in the popular Predator franchise, titled Predator: Badlands, and starring Elle Fanning. Plus, fans of the Now You See Me movies can look forward to the third film in the series, which brings back The Four Horsemen alongside a fresh group of young magicians.

Netflix has two more highly anticipated films coming in December. Noah Baumbach’s comedy-drama, Jay Kelly, and the third Knives Out mystery, Wake Up Dead Man, will both have limited releases in theaters before becoming available for streaming.

Jennifer Lawrence’s performance in “Die My Love” and Sydney Sweeney’s in the boxing drama “Christy” are both strong contenders for Best Actress nominations at next year’s Oscars. It’s definitely worth seeing both of these films.

This month brings a new horror movie from the director of Longlegs, Oz Perkins, as well as Edgar Wright’s take on Stephen King’s The Running Man and a follow-up to Disney’s Zootopia. You’ll also find new films featuring Brenda Blethyn, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Ethan Hawke. But the biggest event is the release of Wicked: For Good.

We’ve rounded up some of the best movies to watch this month to help you decide what to see. You can watch our recommendations in the video above, or keep reading for our picks.

Best films released in the UK this month: November 2025

Predator: Badlands

Release date: Friday 7th November in cinemas

Dan Trachtenberg, who directed ‘Prey,’ is back with a new ‘Predator’ movie. This film is unique because it’s the first time the series has told a story from the perspective of a Predator.

The story centers on Dek (Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi), a young loner who is sent to a distant planet. There, he forms an unexpected friendship with Thia (Elle Fanning), an artificial human, and discovers surprising links to the world of Alien.

Dragonfly

Release date: Friday 7th November in cinemas

This British drama, written and directed by Paul Andrew Williams, features Brenda Blethyn and Andrea Riseborough. It tells the story of an unexpected friendship between a kind neighbor and an elderly woman who needs a little help.

Okay, so this film really struck me as something special. It blends the gritty, realistic style of filmmakers like Ken Loach and Mike Leigh – you know, the kind of movies that feel incredibly true to life – with a suspenseful, thriller-like undercurrent. It’s a powerful combination, and honestly, it feels like a real attempt to get at the core of what’s going wrong in Britain today. It’s highly effective, and it definitely left an impression.

The Running Man

Release date: Wednesday 12th November in cinemas

Edgar Wright’s new film is a second take on Stephen King’s story. Glen Powell takes on the lead role that Arnold Schwarzenegger previously played, and the movie also features a talented cast including Colman Domingo, Josh Brolin, Lee Pace, Michael Cera, and Emilia Jones.

Like the original, this movie takes place in a future world and centers on Ben Richards, a man compelled to compete in a brutal game show called The Running Man. In this show, participants are hunted by trained killers. However, this new version significantly differs from what came before.

Now You See Me: Now You Don’t

Release date: Friday 14th November in cinemas

The talented group of illusionists known as the Four Horsemen are back, along with some new faces, for another exciting heist adventure. Rosamund Pike returns as their cunning opponent.

Veronika Vanderberg, a wealthy heiress with a dark side, is the central figure the magicians must unmask. Ariana Greenblatt, Dominic Sessa, and Justice Smith join the cast as new, younger characters. Meanwhile, Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Dave Franco, and Isla Fisher are all returning to their familiar roles.

Jay Kelly

Release date: Friday 14th November in cinemas (comes to Netflix on 5th December)

I’m so excited for Noah Baumbach’s new film! It’s got an amazing cast and I’ve heard it’s both funny and moving. The best part? It’s hitting theaters for a little while before coming to Netflix next month, so I can’t wait to see it on the big screen!

The movie centers on a famous actor, played by George Clooney, and his dedicated manager, Ron (Adam Sandler), who find themselves on a surprisingly meaningful trip across Europe. The film also features a fantastic ensemble cast, including Laura Dern, Billy Crudup, Riley Keough, Jim Broadbent, Patrick Wilson, Eve Hewson, Greta Gerwig, Lenny Henry, Emily Mortimer, Isla Fisher, Jamie Demetriou, and Louis Partridge, among many others.

Keeper

Release date: Friday 14th November in cinemas

Director Oz Perkins, known for his horror films Longlegs and The Monkey, delivers another unsettling story with this new film. It’s a surreal and creepy tale centered around a mysterious cabin in the woods, and stars Tatiana Maslany, who also appeared in The Monkey.

For their anniversary, Liz and Malcolm plan a quiet weekend getaway to a remote cabin. However, after Malcolm unexpectedly leaves, Liz is left alone and discovers the cabin holds dark secrets when a sinister presence makes itself known.

Die My Love

Release date: Friday 14th November in cinemas

Jennifer Lawrence delivers a standout performance in this gripping film by Lynne Ramsay. It tells the story of a woman struggling with a severe mental health condition following childbirth, and is adapted from Ariana Harwicz’s novel.

The movie stars Robert Pattinson, LaKeith Stanfield, Nick Nolte, and Sissy Spacek. It’s full of striking and unsettling images that will stay with you long after the credits roll, reflecting the turbulent emotional state of the main character.

The Thing with Feathers

Release date: Friday 21st November in cinemas

This film is based on Max Porter’s acclaimed book and features Benedict Cumberbatch as a father struggling with loss. He’s dealing with the death of his wife and raising two children when a mysterious, large crow appears.

David Thewlis voices The Crow, a character completely consumed by his sorrow. He struggles significantly as he attempts to rebuild his life.

Wicked: For Good

Release date: Friday 21st November in cinemas

Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande are back as Elphaba and Glinda in the highly anticipated second part of Jon M. Chu’s hit musical adaptation of The Wizard of Oz.

The show continues the story from last year’s Oscar-nominated movie and features two new songs written by composer Stephen Schwartz.

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

Release date: Wednesday 26th November in cinemas (comes to Netflix on 5th December)

Daniel Craig is back as detective Benoit Blanc in a new murder mystery written and directed by Rian Johnson. The film will have a limited release in theaters before becoming available on Netflix in December.

The film features a strong supporting cast including Josh O’Connor, Josh Brolin, Andrew Scott, Glenn Close, and Cailee Spaeny. Detective Blanc is brought in to investigate when a beloved and charming priest dies in a small town under puzzling and inexplicable conditions.

Blue Moon

Release date: Friday 28th November in cinemas

Richard Linklater’s newest film, starring Ethan Hawke, tells the story of how the famous songwriting duo Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart split up as Rodgers began a highly successful partnership with Oscar Hammerstein.

Hawke portrays Lorenz as a character who is both funny and deeply sad, and Andrew Scott gives a brilliant performance as Rodgers. The story takes place in a single night, immediately after the premiere of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s innovative musical, Oklahoma!

Zootropolis 2

Release date: Friday 28th November in cinemas

In this Disney follow-up, animal detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde go undercover to stop a mysterious reptile who is causing chaos throughout the mammal city of Zootopia.

Ginnifer Goodwin, Jason Bateman, Idris Elba, Shakira, Ke Huy Quan, and Andy Samberg are among the talented actors lending their voices to the film.

Christy

Release date: Friday 28th November in cinemas

Sydney Sweeney gives a powerful performance in this moving true story about Christy Martin, a groundbreaking boxer who changed the sport for women.

The film not only charts her professional success, but also delves into her damaging marriage to her abusive husband and former coach, James V Martin, brought to life with a haunting performance by Ben Foster.
