Best Indie Game Nominee Is Coming to Mobile in 2026 (& Getting Its Biggest DLC Yet)

Mobile gaming is becoming increasingly popular, and for good reason – most people always have their smartphones handy, making them perfect for playing games. There’s a huge variety of options, from games designed specifically for mobile like Pokemon Go, to ports of indie hits like Stardew Valley. Now, another well-loved game is coming to mobile! Dave the Diver, a 2023 Indie Game nominee, recently announced it will be releasing on phones soon.

Earlier this year, Dave the Diver unexpectedly appeared on Xbox, leading many players (including myself) to believe it was available on all platforms. However, Mintrocket had bigger plans – mobile devices! In a recent developer video, they shared details about the upcoming In the Jungle DLC and announced that a mobile version of the game is also in development. If you enjoy Dave the Diver, next year promises a lot of new content and ways to play.

Dave the Diver To Bring the Blue Hole to Your Phone in 2026

Dave the Diver is becoming incredibly popular, and it’s coming to mobile devices! In a recent update, the developers at Mintrocket announced that the game isn’t just being ported to mobile – they’re completely re-optimizing and redesigning it to work perfectly on phones and tablets.

The mobile version of Dave the Diver will capture the fun of the original game, but with some changes. You’ll be able to use your phone’s tilt controls for things like pouring tea, and the touchscreen will likely be used for other interactions. As a big fan of collecting all the sushi recipes, I’m really excited to see how this release turns out!

We don’t have a firm release date for the mobile version yet, but it’s likely to launch in China before becoming available worldwide around 2026. Plus, next year, Dave and the Bancho Sushi team also plan to release the large In the Jungle downloadable content.

In the Jungle DLC Adds 10+ Hours of New Content, Including On-Land Gameplay

Mintrocket has been hinting at the “In the Jungle” DLC for a while now. It turned out to be a larger project than initially planned, so the developers need a bit more time to finish it. We now expect the DLC to be released in early 2026, and we’ve just gotten another preview of what it will add to Dave the Diver.

The new In the Jungle DLC adds roughly 10 hours of gameplay to Dave the Diver, making it the largest story expansion so far. It introduces fresh gameplay mechanics and continues the story as Dave and his friends travel to the jungle village of Utara. There, Dave will explore a freshwater lake, collecting fruits and resources while discovering new aquatic creatures and unlocking specialized tools for the task.

The village is getting a lot of new faces and a fresh dining option called Bancho Grill. At the restaurant, players will experience more gameplay as Dave serves customers, including his new village friends. Plus, there will be new mini-games and exciting land-based adventures in the jungle – that’s right, exploring on foot in Dave the Diver!

I’m so excited for In the Jungle! It’s currently scheduled to come out in early 2026, but we don’t know the price just yet. They’ll probably announce that closer to the release date, which I’m really hoping they reveal soon!
