Even though it’s still early in Season 10 of New World: Aeternum, players are starting to figure out the most effective builds for player-versus-environment (PvE) gameplay.
This character build focuses on the strong Inferno Artifact and is incredibly effective against enemies in PvE mode. It’s also surprisingly durable thanks to other helpful Artifacts, making it both powerful and adaptable.
Sounds like a fun time to you? Read on for all of the build details.
Best Season 10 PvE Build | New World: Aeternum
Weapon Combination – Blunderbuss + Fire Staff
For this build, we will be using the Blunderbuss and Fire Staff combo.
The Blunderbuss is currently considered one of the most powerful weapons in the game, and the Fire Staff has a particularly strong Artifact available right now. We’ll discuss this Artifact and how to obtain it shortly.
This build primarily revolves around the Blunderbuss. The Fire Staff is used mostly to activate the Inferno Artifact, which then boosts the damage of your Blunderbuss.
To get the most damage from your Blunderbuss by level 70, here’s how you should distribute your stats:
- STR – 500
- DEX – 5
- INT – 20
- FOC – 5
- CON – 5
Generally, prioritize increasing your Strength. The only other stat you need to raise is Intelligence, and just to 20. It’s a straightforward build!
You can also use food to temporarily increase your Intelligence (INT). Dishes like Fruit Salad and Steamed Abaia Serpe can raise your INT above 50, which gives you a damage boost. Feel free to use these whenever you need extra power!
Refer to the image above for guidance on building your Skill Trees for these weapons. It will show you the most important skills to acquire for both. However, prioritize upgrading the Blunderbuss skills before focusing on the Fire Staff skills.
Best PvE Equipment
Inferno Artifact – Best Damage Buff
Here’s the Artifact Fire Staff we discussed! For players focusing on damage in PvE, the Inferno Artifact is a top choice. You can obtain it by completing the Empyrean Forge Mutated Expedition in the Great Cleave.
The most important feature of this item is its Inner Power ability. This ability significantly boosts your damage – by 15% – when you hit enemies within 15 meters. It applies to all weapons, including your Blunderbuss!
Additionally, this benefit causes your staff’s effectiveness to increase with both Strength and Intelligence, just like the Blunderbuss. While the Blunderbuss should still be your primary weapon, this change makes the Inferno staff a viable option as well.
We highly suggest acquiring this item quickly. Even just holding it significantly boosts your damage, making it essential for player-versus-environment activities.
Old Crown Artifact
The Old Crown is another essential item to obtain. It’s available as a random reward through the PvP Reward Track.
This crown features the special Royal perk, boosting all your stats by 6. This is a helpful addition, as it slightly increases your damage through added Strength and Intelligence.
Plus, the Old Crown has three slots for Gems that you can change. You can equip any three Gems you like, as long as they’re the right type for each slot!
This is a great addition to the game, offering a lot more options thanks to its gem slots.
Blooddrinker Artifact
The Blooddrinker ring is another powerful artifact available in this update. You can obtain it by completing the Starstone Barrows Mutated Expedition.
Okay, so I just got this Artifact, and its special ability is called Ghoul’s Harmony. It’s pretty cool – I get a 25% boost to my lifesteal, and all healing from lifesteal is increased by 5% too! The downside is that my base damage gets lowered by 20%. But, if I’m fighting an enemy that’s already diseased, that damage penalty drops down to only 15%, which is a nice bonus.
This setup does have a damage drawback, and we want to be upfront about that. But the significant health recovery you get with Lifesteal is a huge benefit. It makes the build much more forgiving and lets you stay alive by dealing damage.
It’s your choice whether to prioritize staying alive over dealing damage. However, we usually suggest getting this item anyway.
Other Equipment and Perks
Beyond the essential Artifacts we’ve already covered, prioritize finding gear with specific perks. Here’s what to look for:
- Survivability Perks
- Keenly Fortified II
- Enchanted Ward II – As many stacks as possible.
- Elemental Ward IV – As many stacks as possible.
- Quick Revive II
- Highly Refreshing
- Vicious II
- Vital Energy II
- Lifestealer’s Draught II
- Leeching II – As many stacks as possible.
- Physical Ward IV – As many stacks as possible.
- Beloved II
- Refreshment II
- Leeching Shrapnel Blast II (Blunderbuss)
- Damage Perks
- Frost Attunement II
- Abyssal Attunement II
- Keenly Jagged II
- Keenly Empowered II
It might seem like a lot, but all these perks really enhance this build! We suggest getting the damage perks first, then working on perks that help you survive. Ultimately, how you prioritize depends on how you like to play.
Heartrune – Stoneform
Finally, for your Heartune, we suggest using the strongest Stoneform available. You can obtain the basic version from Chardis during the Lazarus Instrumentality Expedition. To get even better versions, you’ll need to craft them.
This lets you activate either the Fortifying Form for increased armor or the Mending Form to restore health. It significantly improves your ability to survive, making it a key part of this strategy.
Here are our suggestions for a strong PvE build in New World’s Season 10. Keep in mind that the season just began, so things are likely to change as players discover new strategies. However, this build should be a solid and effective choice for now!
