Bethesda has released a new video detailing the ‘Free Lanes‘ update, which will be part of the initial Starfield release on PlayStation 5 on April 7, 2026.
This update expands the game’s space exploration, letting you travel between planets and even use autopilot. We’ve also added new options for crafting gear, customizing your ship, and finding a new companion to join your crew.
Free Lanes will be included with the main Starfield game when you download it on PS5 next week. It’s a core part of the experience and comes with all versions of the game. If you’re interested in the additional story expansions, Shattered Space and Terran Armada, you’ll need to purchase the Premium Edition.
