It’s been seven years since The Big Bang Theory ended, and now we have a premiere date for its spin-off, Stuart Fails to Save the Universe! Luckily, we won’t have to wait much longer to see it.
The new 10-episode series will premiere on HBO Max in the UK on Friday, July 24th. After that, a new episode will be released every Friday.
The show’s release date was revealed with the debut of its first trailer. The trailer shows Bert (Brian Posehn) visiting Stuart (Kevin Sussman) at his comic book store, which is now set in a world after a disaster.
Then, a Stuart from a different reality arrives and reveals that this terrible world wasn’t inevitable. We see Stuart seemingly traveling between universes, and along the way, we’re introduced to Barry, played by John Ross Bowie, who is known as the “Supreme Ruler of South Pasadena.”
Lauren Lapkus returns as Denise, and we get a quick, cartoon-style appearance from Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, and Simon Helberg as their characters Leonard, Sheldon, and Howard.
You can watch the trailer right here now.

In ‘Stuart Fails to Save the Universe,’ comic book shop owner Stuart Bloom accidentally triggers a multiversal crisis when he damages a device created by Sheldon and Leonard. He’s then left with the responsibility of fixing reality before everything is destroyed.
Stuart embarks on this journey with help from his girlfriend, Denise, a geologist friend named Bert, and Barry Kripke – a brilliant but annoying quantum physicist. They encounter alternate versions of familiar characters from The Big Bang Theory, and as you might expect, things don’t go smoothly.
This new show is the third spin-off from The Big Bang Theory. It follows Young Sheldon, which aired from 2017 to 2024 for seven seasons, and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, which premiered in 2024 and is currently in its second season, with a third season planned.

I’m really excited about this new show! It’s created by the same people who brought us The Big Bang Theory – Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady – and one of the writers, Zak Penn, even worked on big movies like X2 and The Avengers. It sounds like it’s in great hands!
You can watch “Stuart Fails to Save the Universe” on HBO Max starting Friday, July 24, 2026. An HBO Max subscription costs £5.99 per month.
