Bijou Phillips and Danny Masterson’s Daughter Files to Change Name

Bijou Phillips is making a big move on behalf of her daughter.

I was really surprised to learn that Bijou Phillips is trying to legally change her daughter Fianna’s name! I read the court documents over at TopMob News – it seems she filed the petition on October 25th. Fianna is eleven years old, and her dad is Danny Masterson, but Bijou is handling this all on her own, it looks like.

In court documents, the 45-year-old man requested that his daughter, Fianna, legally change her name to Fianna Francis Phillips. He wants her to take his last name instead of her mother’s, who is known for her role on That ‘70s Show, while he is serving a 30-years-to-life sentence for two counts of rape.

TopMob News has reached out to reps for Phillips and Masterson for comment but has not heard back.

Danny Masterson, now 49, was accused of sexually assaulting three women at his Los Angeles home in separate incidents between 2001 and 2003. He was arrested in 2020 and charged with three counts of forcible rape, but his first trial in 2022 ended without a decision. In May 2023, he was found guilty on two of the charges, while the jury couldn’t agree on a verdict for the third. Masterson maintained his innocence throughout the legal proceedings.

Phillips consistently supported Masterson, attending all court appearances and providing a letter of support to the judge before sentencing.

She described Danny as a wonderful father, saying their daughter and she were devastated he wasn’t with them. She explained it had been incredibly hard since he went to jail, but he still makes an effort to connect with their daughter daily, even helping her with homework over the phone each night.

Four months after Danny Masterson was found guilty, Bijou Phillips filed for divorce, stating they had differences that couldn’t be resolved. She asked the court for full custody of their daughter, Fianna, but requested that Masterson be allowed to visit her.

After her split, Phillips began dating businessman Jamie Mazur, but continues to prioritize her family.

In February 2024, she told TopMob News that she and her daughter were doing well and working together as a close-knit pair.
