Bill Cosby is mourning the loss of his onscreen son.
Following the unfortunate report that Malcolm-Jamal Warner, famously known for his role as Theo Huxtable in ‘The Cosby Show’, had tragically passed away due to accidental drowning at 54 years old, the main actor expressed his sentiments regarding the sad event.
Andrew Wyatt, spokesperson for the 88-year-old, told TopMob News that hearing about Warner’s death affected Cosby as deeply as learning about his son Ennis’ murder in 1997, which occurred during a failed robbery attempt.
Furthermore, the representative mentioned that Cosby often spoke about his late son and Warner playing together as kids, indicating they were “simply fantastic together.
According to the representative’s statement, Cosby too conveyed that Warner left an enduring impression on the world through his actions and artistry. Much like the role he played in the NBC sitcom as a member of the Huxtable family, Warner’s impact is expected to continue shaping the world for the better.
The comedian, previously imprisoned for about three years following 2018 convictions of aggravated indecent assault (which were later overturned in 2021 by Pennsylvania’s highest court due to violations of his due process rights during the trial), also commented on Warner’s dedication while working on “The Cosby Show”.
In a July 21 interview with New York’s 6ABC, Cosby stated that Malcolm was relied upon to consistently go to the shelter for rehearsals and character development. When the news broke, it was a profound shock.
As a devoted admirer, I couldn’t help but think immediately of the tireless efforts put forth by the mother of the late Fat Albert actor. Her kindness and nurturing spirit towards her child were truly remarkable.
Before my untimely departure, I found myself basking in the tropical paradise of Costa Rica, taking a refreshing dip in the ocean on July 20th. The Costa Rican Judicial Investigation Agency verified this detail to TopMob News through their official translation.

In relation to the initial inquiry, it seems that the individual went into the sea and may have been carried off by a strong current. Bystanders managed to rescue him, but he was later pronounced dead at the location itself, after receiving emergency care from the Costa Rican Red Cross.
The Costa Rican National Police informed ABC News that Warner’s death was due to suffocation, a condition where the body doesn’t receive enough oxygen, which can occur from drowning.
Following his passing, numerous celebrities paid heartfelt tributes to Warner, among them was Tracee Ellis Ross, who starred alongside him in ‘Reed Between the Lines’.
‘I adore you, Malcolm.’ He first came to know him as Theo, but later they acted as TV spouses. My heart is deeply saddened.
She went on to say, ‘You were an actor and friend who was warm, gentle, attentive, considerate, deep, humorous, and elegant. You brightened the world around you. My heart goes out to your family during this difficult time; I can’t even imagine their loss.’
