Billy Ray Cyrus’ Ex Firerose Accuses Him of “Narcissistic Abuse”

The Australian singer, who briefly married Billy Ray Cyrus in October 2023 before divorcing him seven months later, has accused him of narcissistic abuse. This accusation came more than a year after their divorce was finalized.

Firerose shared a warning on Instagram on December 4th, before photos of her with Billy Ray Cyrus surfaced. She wrote that people in their 20s might encounter a 49-year-old man who will claim to be their soulmate, and advised against believing him.

Johanna Rosie Hodges, 34, hinted at the abuse she claims she experienced while they were together.

Many people share similar experiences after surviving narcissistic abuse. It’s striking how often survivors describe the same patterns of behavior – things like control, isolation, explosive anger, manipulation, and constantly feeling like they have to be careful around the abuser. This often leads to confusion and the feeling of being completely alone in their experience.

TopMob News has reached out to Billy Ray’s rep for comment and has yet to hear back.

She shared that even when things are difficult, there’s always a path forward, even if it’s hard to see it at the time.

Firerose shared a message of hope, saying, “Remember that God sees what’s happening, and things will eventually get better. You’re much stronger than you realize. Even if you’re being hurt, true love always exists, and what you’re experiencing isn’t it.”

This isn’t the first time Firerose has hinted at problems in her relationship with Billy Ray Cyrus, as she’d previously advised her younger self to avoid getting involved with the former Hannah Montana star. Now, she’s specifically accusing him of narcissistic abuse.

Reflecting on her recent experiences, she told Stellar magazine in October 2024 that she would advise her 22-year-old self to leave immediately and not waste another thought on it.

Firerose claimed that after she began dating Billy Ray, she gradually became more and more cut off from her family and friends.

She said her family and friends noticed she started to pull away from them. At the time, they thought he was just overly protective. However, he had previously claimed, back in July 2024, that she was deliberately trying to cut him off from his family, though he didn’t publicly address her recent statements.

She also mentioned that the singer of “Old Town Road”—who is currently dating Elizabeth Hurley—warned her, “Now that you’re connected to the Cyrus family, you can’t go to church or public places where people might recognize you and follow you home. You’re going to be in danger.”
