The next Spider-Man movie, coming out in 2026, will introduce a fresh take on Black Cat, and she looks like a fascinating character. Over the years, many Spider-Man villains have become popular in the movies, with some – like Doctor Octopus, Electro, and the Green Goblin – even appearing in multiple films.
Although Felicity Jones briefly appeared as Black Cat in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, the character hasn’t been featured in a live-action Spider-Man movie or show since then. That’s about to change! A future Marvel project, though it’s still unknown if she’ll appear as the fully costumed hero in 2026, will definitely include a version of Black Cat.
Spider-Man’s New TV Show Features A Different Black Cat
As a huge Spider-Man fan, I’m getting really excited for all the web-slinging coming up! Before Tom Holland returns as Spider-Man in the new MCU film this July, Nicolas Cage is bringing another Spider-Man to life! He’s playing Ben Reilly, also known as The Spider, in a new Prime Video series called Spider-Noir. It’s cool because he actually voiced Spider-Noir in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse already, so he’s revisiting the role. And the best part? All eight episodes will drop on Prime Video on May 27th!
The first trailer for the upcoming Prime Video series featuring Spider-Noir is out, and it suggests several Spider-Man villains will be appearing. Jack Huston will play Sandman and Brendan Gleeson will be Silvermane, and the trailer hints at Electro, Molten Man, and possibly Mister Negative. Black Cat will also be featured.
I’m really excited to hear that Li Jun Li, who I loved in Sinners, is going to be playing Cat Hardy in the upcoming Spider-Man show! For those of us who read the comics, Black Cat’s name is actually Felicia Hardy, so it seems like the show is brilliantly combining both sides of the character into one really interesting persona. It’s a clever move, and I can’t wait to see how it plays out.
As reported by Esquire, the Black Cat character in the show is a seductive and mysterious singer who draws Nicolas Cage’s Spider-Man into a dangerous criminal plot. This makes Cat Hardy a central figure in Spider-Noir. It’s currently unknown if she will actually appear in the Black Cat costume.
Could Black Cat Appear In Another 2026 Marvel Release?
Marvel fans might get to see the Black Cat character appear in live-action films multiple times this year. Sadie Sink, who has a currently unknown role in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day movie, has been speculated to play several characters, and Black Cat is a popular guess. However, with increasing talk about Jean Grey potentially being featured in the MCU’s upcoming X-Men reboot, it seems less likely that Sink will portray Felicia Hardy (Black Cat).
I’m really excited about this new, more grounded Spider-Man movie! With actors like Jon Bernthal as the Punisher and Michael Mando as Scorpion already confirmed, it feels like a really gritty, street-level take. There’s still a chance we could see a Black Cat actress pop up, maybe even tied to the ‘Brand New Day’ storyline, which would be amazing. Even if her only appearance ends up being as Spider-Noir in 2026, I hope it’s a memorable one for all the Black Cat fans out there – she deserves a great spotlight!
