The manga Black Clover has concluded its final battle, finally revealing a winner. For the past few years, creator Yuki Tabata has been releasing new chapters every few months in Shueisha’s Jump GIGA magazine, shifting to a quarterly schedule. The latest release wraps up the fight against Lucius Zogratis, the series’ biggest villain, after a long struggle by Asta and Yuno.
The manga Black Clover is back with three new chapters for its Winter 2026 release, and it’s now very clear that the story is nearing its end. Following the start of the final battle against Lucius last fall, these new chapters finally conclude the fight, with Asta and Yuno defeating the villain thanks to some unexpected help from two important allies at key moments.
Black Clover Ends the Manga’s Final Fight
The latest chapters of Black Clover (387-389) jump right back into the battle with Lucius. Both Asta and Yuno have achieved incredibly powerful new transformations. The story confirms that Asta has completely merged with Liebe, and Yuno with Sylph, allowing them to reach the highest levels of their abilities. However, these forms are straining their bodies and can’t be maintained indefinitely. Despite this, they’re determined to push forward in the fight.
Despite Lucius’s attempts to prolong the fight and exhaust Asta and Yuno, he’s caught off guard. Noelle, now with precise control over her magic, manages to distract him with a long-range water attack. This opening allows Asta and Yuno to strike the final blow. Simultaneously, Julius Novachrono, trapped within Lucius, regains enough control to help Asta and Yuno completely defeat the villain.
What Does This Mean for Black Clover’s Ending?

Lucius has been completely defeated, and Julius is freed from his control thanks to Asta’s anti-magic and Yuno’s spirit magic briefly reviving him. Julius then uses his time magic to repair all the damage to the Clover Kingdom and its people, bringing the battle to a final close with a heartfelt farewell. Now, Black Clover needs to wrap up the remaining story elements, with a major new installment planned for this Spring that will likely conclude the series.
Although the Black Clover manga is finishing up, fans can look forward to the anime’s return later this year! Season 2 is scheduled to premiere sometime in 2024 and will be available to stream on Crunchyroll. The new season will continue the story from where it stopped almost five years ago, promising plenty of content for viewers to enjoy for years to come.
