Fans have been waiting for over four years, but Black Clover is officially coming back to animate what many consider its best story arc, The Spade Kingdom Raid. The anime originally ran weekly from 2017 to 2021 and, while it started with mixed reactions to its adaptation, it eventually became very popular. The manga itself was a hit with Shonen Jump readers, thanks to Yuki Tabata’s impressive artwork and exciting stories. The anime paused because it had caught up to the manga and needed more chapters to be released before it could continue adapting the Spade Kingdom Raid Arc.
After a long wait for more of the story, the manga moved to Jump GIGA in December 2023, where new chapters are released a few times each quarter. Although fans have to wait a bit longer between chapters, the quality has significantly improved with full-color pages, exciting plot developments, and truly beautiful artwork. The next manga release will be on October 31st in the Autumn 2025 issue of Jump GIGA. As for the anime, there haven’t been any new announcements since it was renewed in July, but fans are hopeful for updates in December during one of Japan’s biggest anime and manga events at the end of the year.
Black Clover Has Special Plans For Jump Festa 2026

Jump Festa is a large yearly anime and manga event hosted by Shueisha. It’s where fans get the latest updates on popular Shonen series. Held every December, the event highlights titles from Shueisha’s magazines – including Weekly Shonen Jump, Jump Square, V Jump, Saikyo Jump, and the Shonen Jump+ digital platform. Jump Festa 2026 will take place on December 20th and 21st, 2025, and will feature a special stage event to announce new anime projects.
The Jump Festa event will feature voice actors Gakuto Kajiwara (Asta), Nobunaga Shimazaki (Yuno), Junichi Suwabe (Yami Sukehiro), and Kana Yuki (Noelle Silva). New details about the series will be announced on the second day of the event, but specific information won’t be shared until the main presentation. While a release date hasn’t been officially announced, the anime is currently expected to premiere in 2026. It’s possible the anime will be released in seasons to cover the rest of the story. The current Black Clover anime concludes with a cliffhanger just before the central conflict in the Spade Kingdom begins.
Over the last six months, the Magic Knights have become much stronger. Now, they need to act quickly and attack the Spade Kingdom to defeat the devils, and save Yami Sukehiro and William Vangeance. This attack on the Spade Kingdom is the second-to-last major story arc. After it, the story will jump forward in time, leading to the final battle against Lucius Zogratis – the greatest enemy the Magic Knights have ever encountered.
