The BBC is adapting the spooky ghost story, The Witch Farm, for television, and the series will star two well-known actors.
Gabrielle Creevy, known for her role in Black Doves, and Michael Socha, from Showtrial, will lead a new four-episode drama. The story centers on a young couple whose perfect new home in the Welsh countryside quickly becomes a terrifying experience.
Witch Farm originally gained popularity as a podcast created by paranormal investigator Danny Robins. He’s also known for his successful West End play, 2:22 A Ghost Story, and the Uncanny podcast series.
The Witch Farm takes place in 1989 and tells the story of Bill and Liz Rich, a couple expecting a baby who move from London to the Welsh countryside hoping for a new beginning.

When odd and unsettling events start occurring in their house, Liz and Bill feel like someone – or something – else is present. They begin investigating to uncover the hidden history of their home.
Soon their marriage, and everything they choose to believe, is put to the ultimate test.
To make the story even spookier, this story is inspired by real events.
Although some details were changed for the sake of the story, the Rich family experienced seven years of unsettling events at their farm, ultimately leading to their house being called “the most exorcised home in Britain.”
The story gained attention through Danny Robins’s podcast, Witch Farm, which features personal experiences of unexplained events and explores the area’s rich, folklore-filled past.
Robins has now adapted the tale for the screen, and is the writer of the series.

He described working on the first podcast series of The Witch Farm as a really exciting experience. It was thrilling to investigate a real case that might actually help answer the age-old question of whether ghosts are real.
We’re thrilled to be turning this story into a TV drama! With an amazing cast and director Stacey Gregg, we’re creating a gripping supernatural thriller. Expect a dark and emotional detective story that will keep you on the edge of your seat, with plenty of twists, turns, and chills.
“I can’t wait to spook you out.”
Nick Andrews, who leads commissioning at BBC Cymru Wales, praised “The Witch Farm” as a captivating story rooted in Wales and expertly made. He highlighted Danny’s skillful creation of a tense and character-driven drama with a strong sense of location, predicting it will be a thrilling watch for viewers. BBC Cymru Wales is proud to have helped bring this suspenseful series to life.
Filming is set to commence soon in Wales, with a release date for the series not yet confirmed.
