Black Myth: Wukong is Coming to Nintendo Switch 2 – Rumor

Nintendo has officially announced a new Partner Showcase event. It’s hard to say for sure which games will be featured, though a Switch 2 version of Monster Hunter Wilds is a strong possibility. We might also see some unexpected announcements, like the game Black Myth: Wukong from Game Science.

NateTheHate, who initially revealed the date of the upcoming Nintendo Direct, now suggests the game might actually appear on the next-generation Nintendo Switch 2. While he expects an announcement during the upcoming Partner Direct, he’s also heard the game is planned for release on the Switch 2 at some point.

We might still get an announcement this year, even if we don’t see anything right away. Some people are worried about how the game will run on the new Switch 2, especially since it’s had performance problems on PlayStation 5 and PC. But the developers are working on updates to improve frame rates and fix stability, and they could also use a technology called DLSS to help the game run better on the Switch 2’s hardware.

We’ll have to wait and see what happens, but the Direct Partner Showcase on February 5th at 6 AM PT might give us some answers soon. Black Myth: Wukong was released for PS5 and PC in August 2024 and quickly sold over 20 million copies. It came to Xbox Series X/S last year – you can read our review where we scored it a 9/10.

Game Science is developing a new game called Black Myth: Zhong Kui, set in the same world as their previous title. They announced in August 2025 that it’s currently in early stages of development.
