Black Myth: Zhong Kui Announced with Cinematic Teaser, Won’t Be Out for a While

Developer Game Science has recently unveiled Black Myth: Zhong Kui, the sequel to their successful debut game Black Myth: Wukong.

The announcement comes by way of a slick cinematic teaser trailer, which you can watch here:

Drawing from the traditional Chinese folklore, Zhong Kui is a character known for his ability to traverse both the realms of the living and the deceased.

The design appears impressive, and we’re eagerly anticipating the enhancements that Game Science will bring to Wukong. However, it seems that we’ll have to wait quite some time before we see Zhong Kui.

On the game’s official site, the studio admits that, at present, the project is essentially a blank canvas or starting point. This means that development is in its initial stages, and due to the complexity of modern large-scale game production, it typically requires several years to complete.

In simpler terms, the new game titled Zhong Kui is set to be a solo-player role-playing game (RPG), much like Wukong. This game is planned for release not only on personal computers (PC) but also on all popular gaming consoles.

Could it possibly mean the PS5, but might we instead be discussing a hypothetical PS6 title? Possibly so?

So that’s it then! If you’re curious about Black Myth: Zhong Kui, feel free to share your thoughts in the comments section below.
