This year marks the end of the Thousand-Year Blood War in Bleach, as the anime is set to conclude its highly anticipated return with a final arc produced by Studio Pierrot. As the battle against Yhwach and the Sternritter comes to a close, fans are eager to know what’s next for Ichigo Kurosaki and the Soul Reapers. While creator Tite Kubo hasn’t announced any plans for future stories, the Bleach universe is still expanding. Get ready to revisit the world of Bleach with a fresh new story this June.
If you’re not familiar, Bleach: The High School Warfare reimagines the world of Bleach with its heroes in a completely different setting. Originally presented as an April Fool’s joke in 2023 by creator Tite Kubo, this alternate universe has continued to be explored. The upcoming novel, Don’t Bleach My Fist, is a genuine continuation of this world, not a prank. Written by Ryohgo Narita, it will be released in Japan on June 4th. To get fans excited, Jump Books has released the first chapter of this unexpected Bleach spin-off, which you can read here.
The History of Bleach’s High School Warfare

Originally launched in 2023, Bleach: The High School Warfare has grown beyond its initial introduction. In 2024, a free-to-play dating sim game based on this reimagining of the classic Bleach characters was released and is still available today. While an anime adaptation hasn’t been announced, the continued popularity of the Bleach franchise makes it a possibility in the future. With the Blood War arc concluding, revisiting the Soul Society as a high school setting could be a direction the series takes.
Currently, a specific release date for Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War hasn’t been announced, but Studio Pierrot says it will premiere sometime this year. The story left off with Ichigo and his fellow Soul Reapers preparing for the final showdown against Yhwach. Even if you’re already familiar with the story, the conclusion promises some exciting moments, especially surrounding Kenpachi and the reveal of his Bankai – something that’s been hinted at throughout the latest season. Expect a significant and impactful moment for the eyepatch-wearing swordsman as the Blood War arc comes to a close.
