Since the critically acclaimed action film came out in 2011, filmmakers have been trying to recreate its intense energy. Now, the star of The Raid is bringing his signature style to a new, gritty revenge story – though this time, he’s working behind the scenes. The film’s latest trailer has just been released, building excitement for its US theatrical debut next month.
I was so impressed with Iko Uwais in The Raid and The Raid 2, but it’s been a shame to see him struggle to find the perfect role in Hollywood. Thankfully, he decided to take matters into his own hands and start his own production company, promising the kind of incredible action we loved in those films, like The Raid and The Night Comes for Us. And honestly? He’s delivered! The footage from his new movie, Ikatan Darah (also known as Blood Ties), which comes out next month, is even more intense and exciting than I expected. It’s fantastic to see him continuing to push the boundaries of action cinema.
Sidharta Tata directs Ikatan Darah, a new action thriller starring Livi Ciananta as a former martial arts star. She’s forced to navigate a dangerous criminal world to protect her brother, who’s in trouble due to gambling debts. The film also features Derby Romero (known from Cult), Ismi Melinda (Wira), T. Rifnu Wikana (Night Bus), Abdurrahman Arif (Impetigore), Rama Ramadhan (The Raid), and Agra Piliang (The Shadow Strays). Ikatan Darah will be released in theaters on April 30, 2026. You can find more details in the official synopsis.
A retired martial artist is forced to confront dangerous loan sharks when her brother racks up gambling debts online, putting their family in danger.

The action-packed revenge thriller Ikatan Darah premiered at Fantastic Fest last September and quickly earned critical acclaim. Reviewers praised its non-stop fight scenes and intense violence, calling it a truly memorable film in the genre.
Critics are calling Ikatan Darah a thrilling revenge story packed with incredible action. Dread Central gave it 4.5 out of 5 stars, and Cinapse recommends it for action fans, praising its well-done fight choreography. While fans await a new The Raid movie, Ikatan Darah offers a similar high-octane experience and proves Iko Uwais continues to deliver exceptional action films.
