Fans have been eagerly awaiting a PC release of Bloodborne ever since Sony started bringing its PlayStation exclusives, like God of War and Marvel’s Spider-Man, to Windows PCs a few years ago. Bloodborne, the popular 2015 action role-playing game from FromSoftware originally for PlayStation 4, is a cosmic horror title that players have been requesting for a long time.

Bloodborne is widely considered a top-tier action RPG from FromSoftware. Unfortunately, there’s been no announcement about a PC version, and the game hasn’t even received improvements for the PlayStation 5. This has led many fans to fear that the game will never get the port, performance boost, or remaster it deserves.

It’s likely Bloodborne will never be released on PC, but fans can experience a similar game thanks to modders. They’re currently working on Elden Ring, FromSoftware’s award-winning 2022 action RPG, to make it feel closer to Bloodborne.

A dedicated fan named corvianNoctis has led the creation of Graceborne, a massive mod for Elden Ring. This mod dramatically changes the game to feel more like Bloodborne. You can find and download it on Nexus Mods, and the mod description includes detailed installation instructions.

Graceborne is a mod for Elden Ring that’s still being developed, but already offers a significant amount of new content, as showcased in a recent trailer. It aims to recreate the feel of playing Bloodborne by overhauling many aspects of the original game.

This mod introduces several new weapons with a unique feature: they can switch between two different modes, similar to how weapons worked in Bloodborne. Some of these weapons are directly inspired by Bloodborne, while others have completely new and original designs.

Elden Ring’s gameplay has been significantly updated to feel more like Bloodborne. This includes new features like guns used for blocking attacks, a system that recovers health when you quickly retaliate after being hit, faster dodging while focused on an enemy, and the removal of limitations on how much equipment you can carry.

Graceborne dramatically alters the look of Elden Ring, introducing a wealth of new armor and giving many creatures and bosses – including those from the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion – a dark, Gothic makeover reminiscent of the game Bloodborne.

This mod also includes some of the more intense and gritty outfits from the Dark Souls series, like the Darkwraith armor and the infamous Armor of Thorns, famously worn by Kirk, Knight of Thorns. To enhance the dark and ominous atmosphere, the game world is always set to nighttime.

Graceborne launched in June 2024 and has been steadily improved with updates, evolving it into a Bloodborne-like experience within Elden Ring. The newest update, a0.2, released this weekend, adds more trick weapons, a completely redesigned user interface, and sound effects from Bloodborne.

I haven’t tried this mod yet, but it looks amazing! I’m planning to install it soon when I’m in the mood for a Soulsborne-style game. If you’re thinking of trying it too, be sure to check Graceborne’s website for detailed installation instructions.

To play Elden Ring with this mod, you’ll need the PC game itself, which usually costs $59.99, and the Shadow of the Erdtree expansion for $39.99.
