Blue Bloods Fan-Favorite Vet Breaks Silence On Boston Blue Return

Boston will see another Reagan reunion soon.

Okay, so I’m really excited about the next episode of Boston Blue! It’s going to be a treat for Blue Bloods fans because someone we all love from the original show is making a guest appearance. Blue Bloods was always different from other police shows – it was about a whole family of cops in New York, and they had an amazing cast. While only Danny and Sean are moving over to Boston Blue, the show’s writers have been clever about keeping the whole Reagan family connected, which is awesome.

A new show connected to Blue Bloods will premiere in the 2025-2026 TV season, not long after the original series concludes. This spinoff follows a father and son as they adjust to life in New England and meet the Silvers, a family similar to the Reagans in Boston. Currently, only Erin Reagan has appeared in the new show, but that’s changing soon with a guest appearance by Henry Reagan in the coming weeks.

Len Cariou recently spoke with People Magazine about returning to his role as Henry Higgins now that Blue Bloods has concluded. He chatted with the magazine at the New York City premiere of his new show, American Classic, in late February. Like his character on screen, Cariou shared his enthusiasm about working with Donny Wahlberg again and meeting Mika Amonsen, who has taken over the role of Sean.

“It was great to see Donnie and meet the new great-grandchild.”

A new trailer for Boston Blue has been released, giving fans a first look at Len Cariou reprising his role as Henry Reagan. He’s expected to appear in the 13th episode of the Blue Bloods spin-off. While CBS hasn’t shared details about the episode, viewers are excited to see the beloved character return, bringing with him a wealth of life and professional wisdom.

It will be interesting to see if Henry gets to meet the Silver family, in addition to reconnecting with his father and son. Like the Reagans, the Silvers, who also live in Boston, enjoy getting together over meals to talk about what’s going on in their lives. We saw Erin quickly bond with the Silvers when she had dinner with them, and it would be great if Henry had a similar experience.

Henry is always happy to visit Danny and Sean in Boston, particularly after everything they’ve been through recently. It’s worth wondering if he has other business in New England, too. His trip could encourage other members of the Reagan family to come to Boston as well – if he can make the effort to see his grandson and great-grandson, others should be able to do the same.

Boston Blue airs every Friday night, 10 PM ET on CBS.
