A day prior to the official reveal, a somewhat unclear image of the cover art for Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 and 4 has been shared online by trustworthy source Billbil-Kun. The image displays Tony Hawk doing a trick and the game’s logo, hinting that the rumored return of Pro Skater 3 and 4 is indeed accurate. We are now just under 19 hours away from the full announcement as indicated by the countdown on the franchise’s official website.
It’s unclear who is currently working on the remasters of the two skateboarding classics, as a proposal by Vicarious Visions to re-release these titles was allegedly ignored by Activision. However, this same team that was brought in to assist with the Call of Duty series successfully remastered the first two Pro Skater games to widespread critical praise.
In our review of Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 on PS4, we enthusiastically declared it as an outstanding revival, awarding it a score of 8/10. For longtime fans, the return of the Tony Hawk series to its prime form is a welcome relief, while novices can immerse themselves in the thrilling skateboarding world for the first time. In essence, this game rocks! Given that Pro Skater 3 is widely regarded as the greatest skateboarding game ever made, this follow-up remake package could potentially surpass those lofty expectations.
