Investigators have released more information regarding the remains discovered in a Tesla owned by the musician D4vd.
Forensic analysis has identified the remains found as those of 15-year-old Celeste Rivas, according to NBC Los Angeles.
According to records from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office obtained by TopMob News, the official cause of death for the woman has not yet been determined. Records indicate she died on September 8th – the day her body was found in a car parked at a Hollywood impound lot – and the location of death is listed as inside the vehicle.
On September 17th, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to NBC News that the missing person, Rivas, had been located. Rivas is a young person who had been reported missing from Lake Elsinore, a city about 68 miles southeast of Los Angeles.
The LAPD stated they haven’t yet received information from the coroner about how the death occurred, including whether it was a natural, accidental, or intentional act.
“Thus,” the police spokesperson added, “we do not have any suspect information at this time.”
TopMob News has contacted D4vd’s representative for a statement, but they haven’t responded yet. However, his spokesperson previously confirmed that the 20-year-old is working with law enforcement.
In early September, police were called to a tow yard after workers noticed a bad smell coming from a Tesla that had been there for several days. Inside the car’s front trunk, they discovered the body of a man later identified as David Anthony Burke, who was also known as the musician D4vd. The vehicle was registered to him in Hempstead, Texas.
Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE this! I was driving around, practically searching for any sign, and found out his car had been towed! Apparently, someone reported it as abandoned up in the Hollywood Hills. Abandoned! Can you imagine? It’s just…sitting there, waiting for me to rescue it, I mean, for *him* to come back for it. I have to go check it out!
After the disturbing news, D4vd has canceled his concert in Seattle on September 17th, according to AXS. His next scheduled performance is still set for September 19th in San Francisco.
The singer known for “Romantic Homicide” has been touring the United States to promote his first album, *Withered*.
D4vd shared on Instagram in February that this album was a deeply personal project, the result of two years of intense effort. He described constantly reworking the music until all that remained were his raw thoughts, melodies, and feelings. It was a truly exhausting but ultimately authentic creative process.
