I’m thrilled to report that “Bookish” is already looking beyond its second season! In fact, even before we’ve had a chance to dive into the new episodes, creator and star Mark Gatiss has let slip that writing is already underway for a third season. It’s fantastic to see this level of confidence in the show, and it definitely has me excited for what’s to come.
We spoke to Mark Gatiss at the TopMob Covers Party 2026, and he enthusiastically expressed his hope that the series Bookish will continue for many seasons to come.
“Yes! I’m writing series 3 now,” he revealed. “That might be an exclusive, I don’t know!”
That’s right. We’re just finding out about the possibility of a third season, and while U&Alibi hasn’t officially confirmed it yet, things are looking promising and an announcement could come soon.
Gatiss playfully hinted at future storylines after season 2, suggesting they would center around books and murder, but definitely not theft.
Fans will be happy to learn Gatiss is planning ahead for the show’s future, but for now, we still have season 2 to look forward to.
Mark Gatiss gave us a glimpse of what’s coming up, explaining that the first story revolves around the world of spiritualism. The second features a murder investigation in a tailor shop, and the third sends Book and Jack to Germany to uncover the truth about Jack’s father, Felix.

I’m really excited for what’s coming up! The showrunner hinted that episodes 5 and 6 are going to dive deep into Book’s history with Felix. Apparently, we’ll finally get the full story – everything that happened between them, who Felix actually was, and the whole deal. It sounds like a major reveal is on the way, and I can’t wait to see it!
You can find the series ‘U&Alibi’ available for streaming on demand through Sky, Virgin, BT, and TalkTalk.
