Boots cast: Full list of actors in Netflix military drama

The drama series ‘Boots’ is becoming increasingly popular on Netflix. It tells the story of being gay in the U.S. military during the 1990s and is attracting a growing audience.

Back then, the military didn’t allow openly gay people to serve, which created a difficult situation for Cameron (Miles Heizer), a new soldier who was keeping his sexuality a secret.

The show features the other recruits in his group, highlighting their individual challenges and viewpoints, and also the strict drill sergeants who lead them through basic training.

The movie Boots isn’t a completely factual account, but it’s based on the real-life story of Greg Cope White, a gay former Marine sergeant. He shared his experiences in his 2016 memoir, The Pink Marine.

Miles Heizer plays Cameron Cope

Miles Heizer is most famous for his role as Alex Standall in the Netflix drama *13 Reasons Why*. He’s also appeared in the family drama *Parenthood* and the romantic comedy *Love, Simon*.

Max Parker plays Sergeant Liam Robert Sullivan

Sergeant Sullivan appears to be an exemplary Marine, the kind every new recruit strives to be. However, he’s hiding a past that could ruin everything he’s worked for.

Max Parker is best known for playing Luke Posner in the British soap opera *Emmerdale*. After leaving the show, he appeared in the fantasy drama *Vampire Academy* and the premiere episode of *Doctor Who* season 15, titled ‘The Robot Revolution’.

Vera Farmiga plays Barbara Cope

Barbara is Cameron’s mother, and while she hasn’t always been the most supportive parent, she’s deeply upset that he’s joined the military and moved out on his own.

Vera Farmiga is famous for playing Lorraine Warren, a paranormal investigator, in *The Conjuring* movies and related films like *Annabelle Comes Home* and *The Nun II*.

She previously played Norma Bates in the series *Bates Motel*, a prequel to *Psycho*. She’s also appeared in popular shows and films like *Hawkeye* and *When They See Us*, as well as critically acclaimed movies such as *The Departed* and *Up in the Air*.

Liam Oh plays Ray McAffey

Ray is Cameron’s close friend and joins the military with him. Coming from a family with a strong military background – his father was a Marine and a very demanding parent – Ray feels a lot of pressure to succeed and meet those expectations.

Liam Oh is a rising actor, and while he’s best known for his current work, he previously appeared in a small role in the Freeform movie, *The Thing About Harry*.

Cedrick Cooper plays Staff Sergeant Marcus McKinnon

Sergeant McKinnon is one of the leaders responsible for training new recruits. While he’s strict and dedicated to his job, he’s also known for being fair and understanding – qualities that set him apart from many other sergeants.

Besides his recent role in the ABC crime drama *Will Trent* (streaming on Disney+), Cedrick Cooper also appeared in an episode of *Naomi*, a DC Comics series that aired on The CW.

Ana Ayora plays Captain Denise Fajardo

Captain Fajardo leads the training base for new recruits. She’s a trailblazer as the first woman to hold this position, but unfortunately faces bias and discrimination from some of her coworkers.

Ana Ayora recently starred in the final season of the Apple TV+ legal drama, *Truth Be Told*, with Octavia Spencer. She’s also appeared in *In the Dark* on The CW and *Banshee* on Cinemax.

Angus O’Brien plays Thaddeus Beau Sterling Hicks

Who is Hicks? Another recruit, and something of a troublemaker on the base.

Besides his current work, Angus O’Brien has appeared in several other shows. He was in the sci-fi series *Night Sky* on Prime Video, alongside JK Simmons and Sissy Spacek, and has also had guest appearances in *Hightown*, *FBI*, and *The Blacklist*.

Dominic Goodman plays Isaiah Nash

Who is Isaiah Nash? Nash is another new recruit in this intake, who strikes up a bond with Cameron.

You may recognize Dominic Goodman from his part as Apollo in the Netflix series *First Kill*. Unfortunately, that show was cancelled after just one season, despite its popularity with viewers.

Kieron Moore plays Nicholas Slovacek

Nicholas Slovacek is one of the new Marine recruits, and he’s highly competitive. He’s focused on being the best, which creates conflict with the other recruits.

Kieron Moore, the actor from Manchester, recently starred alongside Rose Ayling-Ellis in ITV’s *Code of Silence*. He’s also appeared in *Masters of the Air* on Apple TV+ and *Vampire Academy* on Peacock.

Nicholas Logan plays Sergeant Cary Wayne Howitt

Sergeant Howitt is widely considered the most unpleasant sergeant on the base. He gets angry easily and appears to enjoy discouraging new recruits.

Besides his current role, Nicholas Logan has also appeared in several other projects. He’s been in the Hulu dramas *Class of ’09* and *Dopesick*, and also played Alexi in the film *I Care a Lot*, which received award recognition for Rosamund Pike.

Blake Burt plays John Bowman

Bowman is one of the new recruits. He gets along well with Cameron, more so than with some of the other people stationed at the base.

Blake Burt has appeared in a number of projects over the last ten years, most recently the horror film *Unhuman* produced by Blumhouse.

Rico Paris plays Santos Santos

Santos is a new addition to the team. He joins the group a bit later than everyone else and needs some time to adjust.
