Borderlands 4 Gets Major New Update With Extensive Vault Hunter Changes

Gearbox Software has just launched a significant update for Borderlands 4. Since the game came out almost a month ago, the developers have released several patches to fix early issues players were experiencing. However, fans have continued to provide feedback about areas needing improvement. Now, some of those requested fixes are available, with more updates likely on the way.

The newest Borderlands 4 update is out now for PlayStation, Xbox, and PC. This update mainly focuses on balancing the game’s characters, known as Vault Hunters. Adjustments have been made to the action skills or passive abilities of Amon, Harlowe, Rafa, and Vex. Amon has received the biggest changes and should play noticeably differently after this update.

Aside from that, Gearbox hasn’t made many other updates to Borderlands 4, except for a single improvement for PC players designed to boost how well the game runs. The remaining adjustments involve WildCard Missions, the Big Encore Boss, and the Black Market Vending Machine, all of which change every week.

Borderlands 4 October 2nd Update Patch Notes

Weekly Activities: 

  • Weekly Big Encore Boss has switched to a tougher variant of a different existing boss with an even more rewarding loot pool for those that take it on. 
  • The Weekly Wildcard Mission has changed. These missions feature a guaranteed Legendary drop that you can repeatedly earn to get your ideal roll.
  • Maurice’s Black Market Vending Machine has moved to another location and changed its offerings. Remember, while the location is the same, your vending machine items are different from other players, so ask around to see if someone has the item you’re looking for!

Changes: 

  • Added auto-clearing of Borderlands 4 stale shaders on version update, preventing performance degradation on some PCs.
