Similar to previous *Borderlands* games, *Borderlands 4* features a huge number of weapons. You’ll quickly find yourself with more favorites than you can carry, thanks to limited starting inventory space. Luckily, you can expand both your backpack and bank storage by spending tokens in the Storage Deck Upgrade menu. You can also increase your ammo capacity and add more slots to the Lost Loot machine to recover missed items.
This Borderlands 4 guide will show you how to get plenty of SDU tokens and increase how much you can carry.
Safehouses
You’ll get 40 SDU tokens each time you discover one of the 14 Safehouses hidden on the map. Completing this will earn you a total of 560 SDU tokens.
Silos
You can earn 40 SDU tokens each time you unlock one of the 9 Silos located around the edge of Kairos. Completing all of them will reward you with a total of 360 SDU tokens.
Drill Sites
You’ll receive 40 SDU tokens for clearing each of the first 6 Drill Sites near Kairos. Completing all six sites will give you a total of 240 SDU tokens.
Augur Mines
Completing each of the 7 Auger Mines located throughout Kairos will reward you with 40 SDU tokens per mine, for a total of 280 SDU tokens.
Order Bunkers
You’ll receive 40 SDU tokens for successfully clearing each of the 6 Order Bunkers located throughout Kairos, for a total of 240 SDU tokens.
Crawlers
Collect a battery for each of the 11 broken-down Crawlers scattered around Kairos. You’ll get 40 SDU tokens for every one you fix, for a total of 440 SDU tokens.
Propaganda Speaker
Protect these Propaganda Speaker towers from incoming enemies, and you’ll earn 20 SDU tokens each time you successfully defend them.
Evocarium
You can earn 15 SDU tokens each time you complete one of the 18 challenges on the Evocarium platform. Completing all challenges will reward you with a total of 270 SDU tokens.
Loot Capsules
When you find Loot Capsules while exploring Kairos, bring them to Capsule Capturer machines. These machines will unlock the capsules and reward you with 15 SDU tokens each time.
Electi Safes
A somewhat meager 10 SDU tokens can be found for cracking open each Electi Safe you happen across.
Survivalist Caches
Loot as well as 10 SDU tokens are to be gained from random Survivalist Caches that you chance upon.
Auger Shrines
When you find and visit Auger Shrines, they’ll reward you with extra loot and 10 SDU tokens.
Vault Symbols
You’ll receive a small reward of just 5 SDU tokens each time you find and interact with a Vault Symbol on the map.
When deciding how to spend your SDU tokens, upgrade your Backpack first, then increase the ammo capacity for the weapons you like to use. You can expand the Bank – the shared storage space – later on, especially if you have multiple characters helping to pay for it. Don’t waste SDU tokens on the Lost Loot machine unless you have a lot of tokens you don’t need.
