Progressing in Borderlands 4 is key to swiftly accessing the late-game content, which is where you’ll find the most rewarding parts of the game. Earning experience points (XP) through gameplay isn’t a new concept, but understanding effective methods will help you maximize your progress.
This Borderlands 4 guide is all about farming XP quickly and efficiently with minimal effort.
Story Mode
Feel free to explore the side content whenever you want, but we suggest completing the main story as quickly as possible. This will unlock more of the map and let you earn a lot of XP by finishing the story quests. Don’t feel rushed, but prioritizing the campaign offers significant benefits.
Balancing Enemy Level
To make the most of your time, focus on fighting enemies in the open world who are slightly stronger than your character. Don’t waste time on enemies that are either too powerful – they’ll take forever to defeat – or too weak, as they offer little reward. It’s about finding that sweet spot where the challenge is appropriate.
Ideal Locations
Areas packed with enemies, like the Order Bunkers, Propaganda Speakers, and Ripper Drill Sites, are ideal for quickly eliminating large groups. You won’t have to travel far to find them, making these spots very efficient for combat.
Unbalanced Co-op
As a player, I’ve found that teaming up with people who are much better than me can be a *huge* advantage. Basically, they bring a lot more firepower to the table, which really helps take down enemies that would normally give me a tough time. It means I can defeat those enemies much faster than if I tried to handle them all on my own. It’s a great way to progress! Teaming up is definitely a smart strategy.
Bounties
When you visit a Safehouse, remember to grab some bounties from the board while you explore the map. You’ll be defeating enemies anyway, so you might as well get an extra XP reward for your efforts. It’s a good way to maximize your progress!
Events
As I’ve been playing and getting stronger, these cool world events, like the bubble-dome Rifts, have started popping up. If I find one, I definitely try to take it on – the rewards are awesome! But honestly, they’re a lot tougher than just fighting enemies out in the open world, so I have to make sure I’m really prepared. It’s a good challenge though, and totally worth it if you can beat it! Check out the rewards!
Boss Farming
Resetting bosses is a new feature that lets you repeatedly fight them to get better rewards while you refine your character’s build. The more you practice, the faster you’ll be able to defeat them on each attempt.
Those are all the best ways to quickly farm XP in order to level up fast in Borderlands 4.
