Borderlands 4 Just Added a Feature Players Have Wanted Since Launch

Gearbox has finally added a highly requested feature to Borderlands 4, the open-world looter shooter that launched last year on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. Although Borderlands 4 has only been available for a few months, Gearbox plans to support it with years of new content, just like they did with Borderlands 3. Fans have been eagerly waiting for this particular feature, mirroring the wait for similar content in the previous game.

Gearbox released a significant update for Borderlands 4 today, marking the second update for the game. A key feature of this update is the addition of Photo Mode. They’ve also improved Harlowe’s Action Skill and increased the quality of loot drops in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode.

Major Borderlands 4 Update

The latest update’s details confirm that Photo Mode can only be used during gameplay, not during cutscenes. This is a typical limitation, similar to what we saw in Borderlands 3. Also, Photo Mode won’t work when playing in split-screen on consoles, just like in Borderlands 3.

Gearbox says the camera in this mode moves just like the standard game controls. It also features several tabs packed with settings, letting you customize things with various visual effects. Like the Photo Mode in Borderlands 3, it’s designed to be familiar and easy to use.

We don’t yet know how big the update file will be. Because this is a major update – one of the largest for the game so far – the download could take a while. We’ll share more information as soon as it’s available.

You can play Borderlands 4 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. A version for the Nintendo Switch 2 is planned, but we don’t have a release date yet. We’d love to hear your thoughts – leave a comment below or join the discussion on the ComicBook Forum!
