With high player counts on Steam and some outspoken comments from Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford, developing Borderlands 4 has been a lot for the studio. Good news for players: a new update is rolling out today on PC to improve the game’s performance and fix stability issues.
Console players will soon have the option to adjust their field of view, as this feature is currently being tested. While there’s no specific date yet, Gearbox says more details are coming quickly. They’re also working to improve performance, especially after recognizing problems on the PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 5 Pro. As a bonus, players can currently get the Break Free Pack for free.
I’m so excited about this new loot! It includes a seriously awesome Legendary Ripper Shield, plus cool skins for all four Vault Hunters – one for each of them! There are even two ECHO-4 skins thrown in. You’ll need a SHiFT account to grab it all, so check out the details here if you don’t have one already.
Borderlands 4 is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. A version for the new Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled to launch on October 3rd. Early sales figures suggest the game sold over two million copies in its first week. You can read our review, where we gave it a score of 8 out of 10.
