Borderlands 4 Video Breaks Down Harlowe’s Skill Trees and Passives

In the grand reveal for Borderlands 4‘s last playable Vault Hunter, Gearbox Entertainment presents Harlowe – a former Maliwan scientist who also belongs to the Truant family. Unlike her kin, she has a keen interest in science and devising unique methods to destroy enemies, rather than following traditional paths. Character designer Tommy Westerman explains her skill trees, starting with Cosmic Brilliance.

Harlowe primarily focuses on utilizing the Entanglement status, and its skill tree provides various methods to do so. For instance, Personal Observation gives a chance for melee attacks to cause entanglement, while Action At A Distance spreads additional debuffs to trapped enemies. Chroma Accelerator, found in the Creative Bursts branch, functions like a “dance of destruction.” With Voidstar Augment, it can freeze opponents, but if you prefer frequent usage, Field Research is a beneficial choice.

Lastly, we have Seize the Day, a game that revolves around Zero Point. Fitting Strange Attractor causes bullets to bounce off surfaces and strike stationary targets, whereas Falling Bodies enables lifting an extra stasis-affected enemy and forcefully slamming all enemies when it finishes.

Absolutely, you can expect Gearbox to unveil Harlowe’s cinematic short today, so keep an eye out! The release date for Borderlands 4 is September 12th, and it will be available on Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. The Switch 2 version will follow suit on October 3rd.
