Borderlands 4’s First Story Pack Launches on March 26th, Adds C4SH, Two New Bosses and Crazy Earl

Following the release of Legend of the Stone Demon last month, Borderlands 4 is receiving a major content update with Story Pack 1: Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned. Gearbox has announced the pack will be available on March 26th, adding a new area to explore, story-driven missions, a new playable character, and a total of two main bosses and sixteen mini-bosses to fight.

In this story, the Vault Hunter teams up with Ellie to explore The Whispering Glacier, searching for an ancient alien monolith that leads to the Vault of the Damned. Inside, they believe a powerful, destructive being threatens the planet Kairos, and they’re determined to stop it. Players will also reunite with familiar faces like Mancubus, Pickle, and Crazy Earl.

The Whispering Glacier is full of surprises, with hidden areas covered in strange, fleshy growths and even a portal to another dimension where a powerful, random boss awaits. Players will face off against a variety of enemies – including Scavs, Kraggons, and the DAHL Legion – and can earn 11 new Legendary items and 3 unique Pearlescent weapons. Plus, there are 28 new cosmetic items to unlock and customize your character.

You’ll need to have completed the “A Lot to Process” section in the main game – meaning you’re level 13 or higher – to access this content. Alternatively, you can start a new character and go straight to the downloadable content. We’ll be sharing a full gameplay reveal and a new cinematic trailer next week to keep you excited while you wait!

Borderlands 4 is now available on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. While a version for the new Nintendo Switch 2 was being worked on, development has been temporarily halted, reportedly due to difficulties for the development team.
