As a dedicated fan, I’m absolutely thrilled about the ongoing journey in “Boruto: Two Blue Vortex,” the captivating sequel to the legendary “Naruto” franchise! Month after month, new chapters keep rolling out, keeping us hooked. Though it might face harsh criticism, it consistently ranks as one of the most popular ongoing series, trailing only behind the unstoppable “One Piece” on Manga Plus.
While there’s no denying that fans have valid complaints about Boruto not quite matching up to its predecessor, there are certain areas where it truly shines. Characters like Sarada and Himawari are stepping up to counter the criticism leveled at Naruto for its perceived lack of compelling female characters.
Moreover, Boruto has managed to create a dynamic duo that Naruto, with Sasuke Uchiha, could never quite achieve with our titular protagonist. It’s an exciting time to be a fan!
In the recent installment of “Boruto: Two Blue Vortex,” Chapter 24, published on July 17th, 2025, Kawaki and Boruto reunite to take on a common adversary. Throughout their confrontation with Jura, we witness Boruto’s secret tactic unfold – he placed Kawaki in the forefront while he orchestrated their escape from Jura. This collaboration showcased an effortless harmony between the two, as they pursued a mutual objective and executed a well-timed plan. The battle ended with Kawaki emanating a calm presence, having pushed Jura to his extremes. It’s clear that Kawaki and Boruto make a strong, harmonious team – something that Naruto and Sasuke, despite being the central duo of the original series, never seemed to accomplish easily, often appearing forced in their cooperation.
Boruto and Kawaki Are Becoming the Duo Fans Hoped to See in Naruto and Sasuke
From its start, the Naruto series didn’t seem to organically pair up the title character Naruto and Sasuke. Their relationship often felt contrived instead. The foundation was laid with Naruto feeling envious of Sasuke due to his attraction to a female character, which fueled their bond and later morphed into an unclear rivalry that Sasuke didn’t reciprocate. With contrasting goals, the storyline kept them separated for much of the second series, with Naruto dedicating himself primarily to retrieving Sasuke. This made their alliance during the climax appear sudden and insincere. Moreover, their roots as the successors of Ashura and Indra established their rivalry and companionship based on fate rather than personal decisions and experiences.
From my perspective, the sequel of Boruto has been progressively weaving aspects that make Boruto and Kawaki an authentic and harmonious pairing. Unlike their Karma marks tying them by destiny, they both aim to vanquish the Otsutsuki, thus working in tandem as a powerful alliance. What really cements their relationship is the lack of fixation on each other, enabling their partnership to grow naturally around their mutual objective.
In the anime “Boruto: Two Blue Vortex,” it’s clear that Kawaki and Boruto make a strong team early on, hinting at significant roles for both characters as they confront the final challenges of the story. This partnership will likely strengthen their bond as siblings by the end of the story, particularly as they address the conflict initially hinted at in the beginning. The way their teamwork develops could be one of the most exciting aspects of the “Boruto” series, reminiscent of the anticipation surrounding Naruto and Sasuke’s partnership in the “Naruto” series.
